But seriously, the M16 is a very good gun, but i think it would be better if I had the option to set it for single shot instead of having to keep it on burst. Nothing funner than lining up headshots.

I loved the M16 more than my family when I first started. The AK wasn't doing it for me. My friend thought the burst fire was a curse, but I found it to be a blessing. All the long range capabilities of single shot with some of the CQC abilities of full auto.

And then I unlocked the G3. I love it more than my M16. I use them both, though.

The M16 is definitely a good gun, a little too good, IMO. If it was a bit less accurate that'd be nice, 3 shot burst doesn't mean 3 shots all hitting the same spot before recoil move the gun up, at least not in real life. I'd just like for that 3rd bullet to actually move, you know? Like it does with the AK and G36, etc.

I must say i prefer the m4 over anything ,except maybe the g36,but i dont have that unlocked,so its digi camo silenced m4 ftw!

At 150 yards i can put three rounds on a M27 target with an acog on the rifle while using some kind of support, so yes the gun is very accurate in burts if you can aim and hold it correctly.

M16 i think is the overall best weapon on the game, havent' play with the M14 yet thought, well see.

P.S. Also those shots are made from an elevated position. And with an M4, the 16 is more accurate.

Desertfox, take note that I play at a LAN center and my name is registered on more than a few of the comps there... so it may not have been me. If I was owning, however, I take all credit . But yeah, if blank1 was the suckage, not me, I swear it!

I put stopping power and a reflex sight (I hate the word "red dot sight"... it's a freakin' reflex sight) on a G3 today, and I have to say that the G3 is actually pretty good if you play designated marksman with it (meaning, move with your squad, but stay behind them.) I did the same with the M14, but the G3 seems has a faster single shot it seems. Still, the M16 is my baby. I just noticed as well, the three shot burst on the M16 makes it a head shot machine. A good 1/3 of my kills in any round are from head shots.

<3 M16. But it's still kinda broken lol. Not G36E from BF2 broken, but yeah...

I agree it is all about how the weapon fire's.. I do care about look a little but all the weapon's in cod4 look really good..

I think the G36 with the reflex looks awesome. However, for what its worth, I think that the M4 does everything the G36 does better.

I hadnt used the M16 before seeing this post, so I thought Id give it a try. With double tap and stopping power it rocks. Its no good for CQB buts thats why I carry an M60 aswell, lol.
