ET:QW was supposed to be a BF killer, but judging from the numbers playing. I just can't say it's a BF killer.
I'm also not expecting anything from BF3, but if they manage to put all features BF2 should have got in BF3, it would be cool.

Yeah, according to gaming magazines, anything from pong to Colin Mcrae Rally is a BF2/HL2/Halo, etc killer. They suck *** at labeling games.

The fact that BF3 will have 8 maps and the same old gamemode just doesn`t make me wanna wait for it or even get it illegally when it`s out. BF3 needs to do something new and awesome, BF2 didn`t do much.

Not really, if that was true there wouldn't be only a few half empty servers for Bf2 at any given time (like a certain mod I know) and Project Reality would be packed constantly. Project Reality really only caters to a few players who actually care about things like bunny hopping and crosshairs and things that every FPS that doesn't suck has.

PR = No bunnyhopping, bullets actually do some damage, accurate weapons, no deviation bullsh|t, blood, teamwork, VOIP, vehicals are powerful and take longer to spawn, destructable buildings, longer view distance, bigger and actually better maps, more factions, and then some more.

BF2 = Bunnyhopping, you have to hit ppl 6 times with a pistol to kill him, random deviation, no blood teamwork is almost nonexistant, almost noone uses VOIP, vehicals are relatively weak and respawn to quickly, no destructable buildings, long view distance is only on 3 maps, too many small maps, less factions than PR, and then some more.

The hitbox problem is actually alot less noticable on PR since you move slower (but can sprint further) and hitboxes are closer together or something like that.

A single game will never kill BF2. The people who say that are those who like to whine about how crappy EA is all the time and how BF2 is such a horrible game and then they continue to play the game that they say sucks so much.

Couldn't agree more. There's almost absolutely nothing on the horizon for us with hopes of taking the place of bf2.

Just played the Cod 4 demo: it's like playing a mod of CoD 2. Stuff has changed but it's basically the same.
CoD 4 won't 'kill' bf2 anymore than CoD 2 could.

Cod4 is to Cod 2 what BF2142 is to BF2.

Pretty much the same thing just abit younger.

I like how people use mods to say BF is better, when COD 4 is much easier to mod, and comes with a realism mod built in.


BF2 = good multiplayer, no singleplayer
COD4 = good multiplayer, excellent singleplayer

Yes, but the gameplay on your first run is amazing. BF2 doesn't even have singleplayer.

Sure it does, the button for singleplayer is at the left of the multiplayer button in the BF2 menu. It's not like the campaigns you have in CoD4 but in BF2 you can change your tactic everytime you play sp.


So in the end, in CoD you can only increase the difficulty level but you will still have to do the same moves everytime you play the game. In BF2 you can increase difficulty and choose your tactic. You can decide to use vehicles or just pwn as infantry, you can be lone wolf, SM, SL or Commander.

I have to say, playing sp in BF2 can get a bit annoying because as lone sniper the enemy commander WILL ALWAYS drop arty on you. Also, it depends a lot on you if you win the round. BF2 bots kind of never want to cap the last flag etc.. That makes the sp mode not that much fun to play. But if you don't care that much about winning adn just having some fun playing, it's cool.

Idk, it's just that in CoD you don't have any alternatives in you playing style. It's dictated by the game.
