BF2 has survived this long it wont be destroyed by one game. CoD4 will have a surge of BF2 players but 6 months from now BF2 will still be in Xfires top 10.

Comparing COD4 to BF2 though is a bit harsh, obviously it should be better its 2 years younger! and in times like today tech comes so fast that even some stuff thats a month old can be outdated by its new buddy

and also theres the fact that the scale of COD4 compared to BF2, i'd like to see what COD4 would turn out like if it was full on combat with tanks, helis, planes, large maps etc

While that may be true, the Xfire Top Ten list doesn't really say much. The minutes are just counted toward everyone that has Xfire opened while playing a certain game.

It remains a good indicator of the popularity of multiplayer games. People may not keep their game open when they play CoD4 but then their are also people who dont keep it open when the play BF2. the Xfire top 10 list gives you a good look at the size of fan bases in proportion to those of other multiplayer games.

I honestly doubt many bf2 players will leave for CoD4, get through the single player campaign, realize you are playing CoD2 and go back to bf2

I think he is trying to say that aside from the new single player campaign its just Cod 2 for the most part.

I only give credit for BF2 only because of Project Reality...

Oh please. Project Reality, like 99% of "reality" games/mods presents zero competition, or even negative competition since one has to actually buy BF2 before doing so. Arcade games are the biggest sellers.

See that "4" after COD? Unless we're talking about Valve, the "4" kills any originality in the series.

Keep thinking that. I've played BF2 since it's released and the game doesn't have much more to offer.

BF2 will ayways have more players then CoD4.
BF2 players that come from CoD4 will ( maybe ) miss the ( rare ) squadplay, jets, tanks, G36E etc. etc.

And i'm currently playing the Hitman series again, so i'm not waiting for a new game.

Too many bugs in this game IMO. I'm switching over to CoD4 sometime next month.

For someone like who, who just joined this month. With 88 post already, and saying your quiting BF2 already... When you just got the game a couple weeks ago.. I remembering reading your n00b thread.

Don't jump on the bandwagon quite yet, just because you suck at BF2.

Im with Camper here. In its own territory, there is noone to challenge BF2. Crysis would only challenge ArmA and ArmA is dead. ETQW is going down the ****ter fast and is of no competition to any game anymore. The only true competitior whats left is FFOW and that remains to be seen. Sure you guys might jump to COD4 for a change, but Im willing to bet you will flock back as soon as BF3 hits the shelves, and it will.

At this current moment, BF2 is untouchable, the fact that these kind of threads have existed for aslong as TBF2 has, is proof enough. You think youre original? Heh.
