    Hl2-Ep2 discussion. SPOLIER WARNING!

Howabout you guys? I thought it was FANTASTIC! I was so sad at the end when Eli died, a very dark ending to the episode indeed...

Fantastic Episode, and Portal was great too! I wonder though, where is the lab in Portal located? Surely its not on the ship, but where is it? What time frame was it set in? Before the Portal storms (original Black Mesa ones)? Why was it deserted and why are you there?

This means that somewhere down the road, we will go back to Black Mesa. And Black Mesa is just (words cant describe how cool). Well be heading back to the roots. Excellent Episode.

I doubt Black Mesa will be in Ep3.
More likely the secret base thingy in some icy place, or the apparture science place that is rivaling with Black Mesa.
Pretty much of Black Mesa got whiped out by a nuke, but you never know. Would be cool though.

Nuke? What nuke? I only remember the nuke you disarmed in OpForces.

They were talking about Black Mesa in Ep2, I dont remember the exact words, but something along the lines of reestablishing communications with it. The missile, satellite and the launch had an integral part in that plan. From what I gathered, theres something in BM they want and the ship coming out as being the competitor to some of BMs research only enhances that idea.

I must say, Im a huge fan of Black Mesa. Best location ever.

perhaps black mesa will be in hl3 maybe? hope so :)

also i hope ep3 comes along quick,

as for the walkers at the end i found it best to take out the protection robots 1st then throw the ball thing its sticks 1st time then shotgun blast and the walker is gone,

aslo cool you can put the ball things on the back of the car.

^ Yeah take them out first (with the car if possible) then shoot the Strider, otherwise the hunters will shoot your mine thingy. I hate hunters.

I never played HL1 so I don't really know much of anything about Black Mesa.

A shame, a shame. Every games basics start with a location. Black Mesa is a huge research facility, funded by US and unknown people and organisations, gathering up the brightest minds of the world. Maybe someone who recognises the nature around Black Mesa and the rock its built on can correct me, but I think its somewhere in Nevada desert, built in granite surface deep within and has a fairly large surface area aswell. Its research areas range from creating teleportation devices, to new weaponry. The game was made in 1998 or 1996? And while the map making at those times was still a newborn child, the location of Black Mesa Research Center created by far the most satisfying emotions for me. The sound in HL1 is simply genius. My most favourite moment was a battle against a tank, using underground tunnels, the music and location created a shocking feeling of nostalgia and inner peace.

They are making Black Mesa mod for the Source engine. Basically HL1 in HL2 graphics.

They didnt call HL revolutional for nothing :)

I thought episode two was good but there wasnt enough confrontations with the combine, I mean for about two hours ur fighting antlions underground which pretty much sucked and the ending with the striders wasnt as epic as in the trailers because there were no combine soldiers or gunships. The games good but I thought it would be better.

Do you recommend I buy HL1 to play it? Or should I wait for Black Mesa:Source, to release?

Get HL1, if you haven't played it then don't tell people you're a "gamer", period.
