Id recommend you get HL1 as its not really expensive nowadays. It offers some great mods to try aswell, one of them being Natural Selection. HL1 is like a mandatory game if youre into FPS games.

Being back in BM would be cool but I`d like to see new areas like the AC where the new portal char will prolly come in (somewhere on the north or something like that) or totally unseen areas of BM.
