If you want a real good silencer to work...you take powder out of the casing. I have heard a silencer and it is very quiet. But it is how much air the balistic breaks that makes the difference.
i just watched a good videoon youtube and hte reason why they still make a lot of noise is becuase the bullet is still travelling above speed of sound so it causes like a sonic boom orsomething. so with sub-sonic ammo, the shots are acutlly quite quiet. (except the guy in teh vid had to load every shot)
From all my time in playing I can pretty much decipher each weapon being fired around me.
They're all pretty much the same as far as being noticeable but the M-95 seems to reach farther.
M24, definetely. Not only it is it loud, it's the most distinctive. That high pitched CRACK whoosh...Can't miss it. (And I do mean the M24, I know the L96 sound, but it's much quieter and higher-pitched.
you get used to all of them, and recognise them after a while, don;t you?
if i hear a certain report , e.g. PKM, i'll chekc my HUD then team screen and see who's near me with that possible rig. if they don't cross-reference, then i'm certain an enemy's nearby. got a few kills that way.
the loudest is obviously M95, followed by other sniper rifles. now i use the G36C more, that popping sound is obvious. a bit like when u buy a VW... you soon notice VWs everywhere.
