I just find PR extremely boring... the only mods that have kept me hooked were DoD and CS.. they just didn't feel like any other game out there that existed at the time..

oh well i dont really count CS as a mod anymore - i suppose you are right it did start out as one, but you can go out and buy it now which is something that you cant do with mods i wouldnt think anymore?

well but if you and others call it a mod, then its a mod i have been playing for many years and still do - i cant get enough of it. DoD is also fun but im a CS'er

      ;D

nobody plays mods IMO cause ther's only 3 or 4 servers populated if its a hot mod like PR or POE

btw those mods & Dcon & others have here own stat sysstem so i doubt its that for everyonne and in PR you rack up more points very fast. seen some pepe have 800 or more points in one game.

likie m95 said i dont care much for it, its too much asking for kkits, i mean why do i need to ask to drive a apc & game say "you cant have a kit I've done give 2 out" "walk u stupid arse", LOL
Hardly, BF2 IS DYING! Believe it or not its going down and should be pretty much put in to the 2nd or 3rd played game on computers after these new games come out. Sure the mods have their own ranking system but most noobs playing BF2 don't want to start over and lose that pretty jpeg image of a rank The rest of your comment didn't make no sense to me so I'll ignore it. Plain and simple stats killed BF2 game play and has stuck the stake in the heart of the mods. :salute:

Re: why dont people play mods?

The idea that people won't play mods because there are no stats is way overblown, as far as I can see anyway. Maybe I'm hanging with an aberrant crowd but I don't think I have met anyone who actually seriously cared about their stats that much. Yeah people would go for various medals or ribbons, but mostly just cause they were there. No one I knew spent anytime trying "manage" their stats in anyway.

Most of the mods out there right now just aren't very good. The amount of time it takes to properly produce one is just more than most amateurs can reasonably accomplish anymore. The level of professionalism and skill you need today are much higher than in days past. Games run in the millions of dollars to produce. You can't expect what are essentially hobbyists to produce something of the same caliber or complexity. It would be like trying to make Saving Private Ryan in your back yard. Maybe you have a talent for direction as good or better than Spielberg. But without the supporting professional crew, acting talent, or money, it's unlikely you're going to get anything close to the original no matter how much passion your all volunteer troupe may have.

I know what u mean about the new game's, but honestly IMO i havent seen a new one that outdoes bf2, i've heard the band of brothers is good but i never played it.
but 2142 players are coming back(some anyway) one thing i think hurts bf2 is alot of peep computers cannot take bf2 graphics & they cant afford a card. I know i couldnt play it for a couple yrs till i got a good card.

but far as the mods for me anyway i only like my points to get all my unlocks afte that whoo cares to be honest. but i know it is important to some.

Five, they have there own stat system, so there rankings in the mod. but not in bf2 stats

one thing i see bout ym friends is that they dont know about mods, thats why no one plays them...

i mean EA never talks about them, and big game magazines and sites dont talk about them either, so they are popular
