why dont people play mods?

ok so I've been trying to play some of these mods, sadly no one plays them....

only mods i seen people play is PR and PoE2...

its sad, and people shouldnt make more because obouisly no one plays them.... i think its because no one gets to know about it...

why do you tihnk people never play mods?

If you're not one to venture onto forums you won't see any advertisement for them. I remember why I played Desert Combat for BF1942, it was because the DC servers showed up as well on your server list. and I googled it and found the mod.

yeah im guessing not a ton of ppl have heard of POE2 or PR even tho theyre the most popular mods. also, i dont play poe2 cuz no one else plays and i havnet played PR in a while cuz it lags too much for me even tho i got 2 gigs of ram for it. also, u cant get pts for ur current rank and ppl like their stats too much.

1. Stats, it's an obsession with people.
2. They don't like the mod itself.
3. Never heard of the mod, lives in a virtual cave.

Usually it's being obsessed with their stats though.

This is the Main and ONLY reason that matters right now..otherwise they would be popular. BF2 is dying and even the modders don't seem to understand this...there are games on the plate right now ready to be served and the plate BF2,mods etc are going to get pushed to the side and thrown in the dish washer. WHich this is fine, Battlefield games need to be pushed to the side for the new technical and much better put together games to be played. RIP BF! :salute:

I just like the vanilla gameplay better. I tried PR, and I don't like waiting around asking for a gun, then traveling 8 miles to the destination only to be killed in one hit.

I don't play mods simply because of downloading, finding maps with people on it and simply because its totally different from Vanilla which by the way won't help me improve in BF2 by playing mods.

good point. PR isnt everyone's cup of tea cuz its too realistic sometimes which is the point but its not for impatient ppl.

also, from wat ive heard, BF2 is hard to mod. PR looks graphically terrible if u play on anything other than high settings and even tho its been heavily changed, it still has the look of BF2

mods of half life and half life 2 are incredibly different than half life/half life 2. cs started as a mod for half life and now look at it, its pretty much its own game

mods are all i play, the best teamwork, the nicest people and most of all some of the best game play to ever grace the bf2 engine. rank and stats were the death to mods as they were known. poe2's game play and renders put vanilla to shame and sadly so many people are so biased to points and ranks they will never play it, they actually think they are accomplishing something with their repetitive and predictable game play to get vanilla points only to forget that in a year or two it will just be allot wasted time for nothing rather than having fun playing some great mods.

i think if more people tried mods, just gave them a few honest hours they would really start enjoying playing for the sheer fun of it.

i dont feel like bf2 is dying, its still played by alot of people & still on the shelf at walmart.
nobody plays mods IMO cause ther's only 3 or 4 servers populated if its a hot mod like PR or POE

btw those mods & Dcon & others have here own stat sysstem so i doubt its that for everyonne and in PR you rack up more points very fast. seen some pepe have 800 or more points in one game.

I don't have time, I only 2 weeks ago finished HL2: episode 1, Bioshock, haven't finished the last Guild Wars, Quake Wars, Episode 2 coming 2nd week of October, Crysis, Unreal Tournament 3 in November... I might have time for a mod in december of next year..
