lol, some of you are giving opinion who obviously don't use a wrench very often.

If you are repairing a vehicle, it is faster and more powerful standing beside it than sitting in a vehicle using the passive wrench. I have played many hours in armor, matches included, trust me it goes faster if you get out and stand beside it.

That being said, you are much safer sitting in an LAV or tank next to the guy, especially if he is a wrench as well.

As far as the Command assets go, you can increase the amount of time it takes to repair an asset by throwing more C4 than required to destroy it. It isn't much more time, but you take it beyond dead in a way.

It's simple to test out, create a local server, blow up the asset and drop a crate on it, time how long it take to come back to life. When it is fully repaired, throw all your C4 on it and then drop a crate and time it. Like I said it isn't much longer but it is definitely longer.

While in vehicle it might be faster.. like i have always wondered while your in a vehicle do you capture the flag any faster?.. always wondered that

but a person in a vehicle can repair more than one object at a time than a person standing next to the object with a monkey wrench in his hand... Consider that.

when I play wake I can rep two arty @ once in a vehicle. I think that maybe faster than the wrench alone.

and yes, you are right about the OK (Over Kill) on commander assets. I like that though, means I get more rep points out of it usuallly which are hard to come by as is.

Regardless, repair points seem to come very slowly over time compared to most other kits.

Unfortunately yes... Too bad you can't just throw out a bag with a wrench over it like medics and support do... i bet you'd gain rep points much faster then Lol

If you are going to test, try it on the same thing. Go to a map with two Arty pieces right next to each other, C4 both with 2 packages, suicide and then try the wrench/truck method. I always thought the UAV and Scan had different hitpoint levels.

A TV missile will kill everything in one shot but you need three TV missiles to kill any commander asset @ full HP.

C4 the requires two bricks for anything heavy duty armour plating.

The part that makes no sense?

1 TV kills a tank.

2 C4 kill a tank.

3 TV kill UAV

2 C4 kill UAV

Logic fails in bf2.

The test I did was in a live ranked server, and I didn't think there would be a difference in the time between a scan and uav trailer.

However, I'll do another test on a local server and have a friend assist with C4, TV Missile and Vehicle damage. It may be different times for each asset and/or vehicles. I'll report back when I have final results.

I agree that's its almost always better to be in a vehicle while repairing for protection, offensive firepower and the ability to repair 2 items that are close together (like 2 Arty pieces). Sometimes though, I'll jump out of a transport to repair so that I don't become an AT target.

In the next patch EA/DICE should come up with a way to let you use your wrench to fight when you run out of ammo. Using the knife is gay and old by now.

Yeah, I have always loved that idea. unlike the knife, it would take more then one jab to kill them, like two hits with the wrench or something...so hopefully they all ready have some damage to the point that you could just nail them once and they are out.

Never relie on other people to repair you from their tank its far too slow.
Wrench is possible twice as quick, until the stamina bar runs out.

You can repair a vehical/asset whilst moving as long as you point at the object and stay in range. You can also bunny hop whilst repairing with wrench to give you a better view of enermy whilst mainintaining the ability to dodge.

You have been putting three on the UAV because it takes three c4 to blow the UAV. All other assets take two. This has been discussed before.

Can anyone finish the following sentence?

It is faster to repair with the wrench outside the vehicle until your stamina is depleted....

A),and then repair from in the vehicle until your stamina gets back up.
or,
B) ,and then continue to wrench after your stamina has run out.
