    Fastest Repair?

I've asked this question on another forum, but couldn't get a confirmed answer...

Is it faster to repair something while in a vehicle or by using your wrench? Are they the same time?

Please only reply if you know for sure or have a good idea. Thanks!

I think you repair quicker while in a vehicle, besides its safer since you don't expose your e-penis to be shot at.

I think being in a vehicle, it's safer and the wrench doesn't lose its.... erm..... thing (like the sprint bar on people). What a retarded idea putting that on a wrench.

well after having a quick glance at the tweaks of both the wrench (which indicates the strength using the wrench [dur, but some people like eddy might get confused] ) and engineer kit (which has the strength when in the vehicle built into it)

and the vehicle has a greater radius then the wrench 7 > 4

but the wrench has more strength 3 > 0.01, which to me would sugges that the wrench repairs faster then when you're in a vehicle

Exactly, which is why I tend to repair something while in a vehicle. But if it's faster to repair while on foot though, I would take the risk depending on the situation.

I guess the only real way to find out is do a test....

No it's not, it takes me twice as longer to repair a bridge for example with a wrench then just aproaching it with a vehicle.

that may have something to do with the larger radius that you have when in a vehicle, so you'd be repairing more of the bridge

but i find on assests that the wrench is alot faster, and the .tweak files would back this up imo

                          Re: Fastest Repair?

Well I tested it out last night...

                          1. Repaired a completely destroyed UAV trailer using the Wrench.

                          2. Repaired a completely destroyed SCAN trailer while in a transport vehicle.

In each case, I counted how long it took for the trailer to visually change from "destroyed" to "normal" (not a full repair, but you know what I mean).

                          The Result:
Equal time. There is no difference.

                          On another note:
Why do the Trailers sometimes take several seconds to come back online, but in other cases it's fairly quick? It's funny, because sometimes I get a 1-1/2 repair cycle for one Trailer and in other cases it's only like 3/4 cycle. Seems like another glitch in BF2....

Depends how many C4 were put. If 2 it will repair fast. If all 5 then it might take longer

                              Once it's destroyed, it's destroyed.

There isn't a factor which determines just how destroyed it is. Although i know what Vesuvan means, sometimes it can take awhile for it to start repairing at all yet that time still counts towards your repair point cycle.
