Eh.. Thats what you are doing my friend

Are you from US or Europe? Coz if i go on some US server my ping will be 200+ and i will suck bad. But if your from Europe then name a TV2 server (Not Karkand) and time and ill join if i dont have anything better to do. Well we can actually play Karkand if you want i dont really care.

        Re: Advanced Guide to Sniping

the best way to see who is the better sniper, would be meet up on =DC=24/7 Wake IO server.

then skill comes in to play, due to built drop,

350-400m medium to long range head to head.

im not going to judge a guide or e-peeens,

every sniper players the way they want to play.

my style varies from the next guy.

but to be a top sniper you need to constantly make shot's that require built drop calculations,no guide will teach you that,it depends on the rifle you use,and the distance ect ect.

        it all comes with practice,

im always up for some friendly competition so if you visit the above,uk player or usa, ping doesn't get bad for me,140 or so.

we could all have a good old snipe together, learn some things.
rather than being all nasty and childish towards each other.

I think ill make a sniping accounmt just to get a KDR of like 5:1... Anyway Marsman you are wrong so stop thinking that your winning this argument. You cant take critisism at all now can you??

I might get on that server in 30 min or so:)

Since I don't feel like debating anymore, I've just removed the parts people really disagreed with. I deleted two parts and edited one. Because of this I'm going to ask a moderator to clean this thread up, since there is nothing wrong with the guide now and I'll be improving it soon.

              Re: Advanced Guide to Sniping

You think there is nothing wrong with the guide. On a public forums people have a right to argue and debate things that they don't agree with. Your not trying to resolve the arguement, your trying to pretend like nothing happened at it wasn't you who escalated the arguement with making fun of someone's skills after they said they didn't agree with your guide.

You need to learn how to not start debates, and how to not lose them so badly that you need to report every other post I make

              Cheers

No I've just got better things to do than argue video games with a 16 year old kid from Norway.

                      Game Settings (Voting, HUD, ect)
First of all, opt out of voting. Secondly, change the crosshair to 100% green or 100% red. The 100% green is a lime green, and isn't found anywhere in the game (Dragon Valley? Zatar Wetlands?), the 100% red isn't either (Neither is Pink). The crosshair needs to be 100% visible, not the 25% default setting. While snipers don't have crosshairs like other weapons, it's important to see the hit indicator when in scoped mode. Other colors will blend in with the surroundings, making it hard to tell if your shot connected with the enemy. The rest of the HUD should be a mix of visible and transparent, around 25%.

The only thing I'd change to keyboard layout would be the parachute button. As snipers are often in high places, a parachute is useful for when you're spotted and need to get away quickly. Reaching for the 9 key is a pain, and I died many times from falls before changing it. (Change to Space through Controls.con files (so space is jump/parachute))

The rifles, and when to use them.

Medium Range (Jalalabad, Dragon Valley, ect)
At medium range, the SVD or Type 88 is very effective. If you are on the USMC, use the L96A1 (Nothing wrong with the M24 either). At medium range, targets are usually sprinting to the next flag or to the fight. Using a bolt-action rifle with sprinting targets is very hard to do. This is where the SVD/Type 88 comes in. If you miss, you can just keep firing and you will eventually kill him.

Long Range (Wake Island, Gulf of Oman, ect)
At long range, the L96A1 is always the best. The scope is very easy to use, and the weapon is very accurate. The SVD/Type 88 is usually useless at long range.(Depends on your Sniping ability tbh) The M95 is only good if you are spawncamping an aircraft carrier or uncap base, such as in Dragon Valley.(Not true lol, M95 & L96A1 are both excellent at long range but you have to get used to the sights on the M95)

                      Rumor Control

"Never snipe from buildings, use grass for cover instead". I'm not sure who's idea this was, but it's terrible advice. First of all, grass isn't even visible at ranges over 30 feet. (Better to hide behind the bushes with a stump) Snipers who hide in grass are completely exposed, yet the grass will still obstruct their view. In addition, buildings are a great place to snipe from. Especially in Special Forces, where have access to almost every roof in the game. The argument made is that your silhoutte will stand out against the sky. This is true. That's why you snipe from behind a water tower or satellite dish, so that you blend in with the building.

Watch your target a few seconds after he dies.
If he dies in a crowded area, chances are a medic will try and revive him. Keep your scope on his head, and when he is revived, take him out again. The medic will try again, and you can kill the medic that time, since medics love to go prone when reviving. (Thats fun  )

you can snipe however you want. you might just be a new player who has sukky stats but kills everyone he puts his rifle sights on. you dont have to have good stats to be good

This help in some areas some I already knew by playing the game are getting it off of Ichangedmyname's guild (are sniper razzledazzle are what ever your name really is) You left out some thing might need to be spelt out to the in-bred ninnys out there other times you left all of us in the dark. Anyways its a okay guild few miss ups in but nothing is perfect.

Oh and btw your debating the stats relfecting skill thing with Ichangemyname just for a heads up He makes a new account (i think) every 3-6 months so he is really a good player even if his stats dont relfect it.

                              Yep solid. New accounts 24/7
'Nyways as far as my name goes it used to be Sniper but is now ichangedmyname as far as email/xfire and mostly RazZleDazZle for in-game (CoD4, CSS, etc).

                              Cheers

P.S. And even the Sniper2068 reflects some skill: 3.18 SPM, three/four times the gold of the average player at my rank, blah, blah, blah. Towards the end of my BF2 time I golded every round without fail.

This is different for everyone, but I find my natural instincts are adapted to using an M24. So use what YOU think is the best.

General Fai abandoned that place long ago after he found all his mini-gunners were getting shot by snipers.

So, it's best if we follow him.

Last I heard they went here

(For those of you who have not played Command & Conquer Generals and it's expansion pack, http://cnc.wikia.com)

Actually, if I went to the trouble of it, I could probably calculate some sort of algorithm for leading/bullet drop...

But, if I did, it would only be good for hitting still targets. Like snipers.

                                Now I'm starting to reconsider...
