Hey, you have a better car, you win the race - such is life.

      I would say the opposite.

The better you are, the higher your FPS, the less "lag" you encounter and the lower your ping.

Not necessarily. I'd say it was the other way around. The more serious gamers tend to have better computers. Because they are serious gamers, they will spend a lot more time on a game than just an average person.

No, I mean, the better you are, the higher your "fps" and the lower your "lag" and the lesser your "ping".

It has nothing to do with the PC itself. :)

I do play better since I got a new rig. (Overclocked E6700, 8800GTS, 4 gigs ram, and a 3 times faster than cable connection) From the time I click 'Join Server', to the time I click 'Join Game' is 5 to 10 seconds, compared to 2 or 3 minutes before. This rig makes it alot more fun, less problems, and like a whole new game. But the real reason I play better is because I play more, and the excuse of lag or whatever is no more. I can't blame the computer any more for my game-play. So, no way can all the breakthroughs be solely attributed to the new rig, but it was part of the motivation to keep playing and get better. Sure, the rig plays a part, but I think practice, hard work, and a willingness to learn, plays a much bigger one.

Just because you get killed going around the corner, doesnt mean the shooter sees differently than you. He can shoot you, and your spose to be dead, but 80 milliseconds later you go around the corner and die. Trust me, you have enough time to move behind a wall before the server registers your hit.

An example is if you have a little amount of bullets in your rifle, you shoot a guy, then panic because you realize he isnt dead when your out of bullets. But then a second later he drops dead, and you get the kill....

The game is just slow to react.

Mass lies about his pc? What's wrong with it?

I think his load times are a bit exagerated but then again after the initial load of say strike @ karkand, sometimes the second load is done faster than I can blink my eye but not often. But I do agree with his timings after the map has been loaded at least once so its in the ram and ready to go.

As for better computers in hand with better players - Maybe. I use to play on a P4 AGP rig back in my noob days but before I upgraded my computer I was doing great and had awesome K/D ratios in server on medium high settings with a 7600 gt. So from personal experience that just shatters your theory but I won't lie, BF2 with everything turned up on high is great - Though I would like to make it less dark so I can see in the shadey areas better. :)

Sometimes the graphics can play a role in your favor. I know some people play with shadows to off so they can see more, but you can easily spot someone on a roof in certain areas, their silhouette makes a shadow on the ground.

And i play sometimes at a constant 25 fps in intense areas, i sacrifice performance for graphics. Does that make me a worse player? Probably, but I like graphics almost as much as gameplay.

Set Lighting to low and it removes shadows and makes BF2 load up like Notepad. Vehicles and other things look nasty though. Wish they allowed custom models.
