I like to camp next to the mounted AA and watch my mini & look & listen for jet fixing to pass, if he's going either way wait till he is overhead then jump on gun & shoot at him from the rear, from front i've never got a kill i dont think, from rear shots moderate.

If BF2 only had hand held anti air weapons...

kinda do, a mounted gun on jeep will bring down a chopper & if your lucky a smokin jet if your aim is good.

i have m95 a chopper down , thats allways nice.

So you are saying you Eryx jets that fly over runaway not even slowing down and that is not even hard? I have no idea who is flying those jets but normally that is a million dollar shot. Never seen this happen

I've hit the occasional chopper in a circle of death, and the lead on is bloody long (almost 180 degrees), I would expect similar for jets.

Just had a pretty cool experience on Sharqi. I was in a tank shooting at a chopper with the little machine gun because I didnt have a shot with the cannon. He turns around on me and I start to back up thinking im toast. His TV missile smacks into a tree trunk about 10 feet in front of me (which looked friggin awesome the thing is only a foot or two wide) and as he starts diving at me to hit me with the regular missiles I hit him with a tank shell and blew him up. :yay:

Ive been shot down ONCE with a AT missile while flying jet (in 110 hours).. I guess its cause I dont rape bases or slow down :p (counting out the first attempts to hover too close infantry lol)

Nothing beats the AA on a carrier.

Ha, ha... I laugh and get an automatic kill with my guns when someone gets on the carrier AA. It's SO vulnerable. Remember that just toning the jets and choppers has an effect on how they move around, and forces them off their game. You can shoot down a jet with two stinger missles, but the problem is that you don't often get to site them long enough until the flares are gone. The best method is to shoot them when they are coming right at you, as they get in front of their flares when they drop. A stinger or IGLA that has a view of an entire bombing run works best, as the jets slow down when climbing out of a run. My favorite kill is with a TV Guided rocket from the chopper; they never expect it, nor defend against it. Jets can only shoot a good chopper pilot down with their guns when coming from behind or the side (unseen). They are SO easy to avoid and shoot at when you see them coming at you...

Well, I always liked the AA guns in BF1942 the best. They actually did some damage too, LOL.

I like having jets in the game, but it's way too unbalanced for ground-pounders. There's just no way to take down a dang jet. Because of this inequity, I simply play maps where aircraft is not much of a factor. The new Highway Tampa map is great, not many jets there.

The game REALLY needs stingers or some other handheld missile system to knock jets down..............

Not if its used intelligently. All the AA is very effective if used properly, even the stingers/igla. To the person who said that the Tunguska/PGZ-95 is better that the linebacker because it shoots faster needs to learn to aim. Lead shots. The linebacker will take down a jet with only a few cannon hits, not using missiles. About 10-15 shots into the cockpit (20-25ish in the fuselage) of an enemy chopper will send it down. A good AA driver will decimate aircraft, they are just few and far between, and usually too busy trying to duel with APCs and tanks.

BTW, I do have expert AA.

Do you ever see somebody that has as good of aim with the linebacker to hit a jet with every shot?

Maybe one moving strait towards or away. But that's a bad pilot. Also, who doesn't have expert AA?

Twice on Sunday I was the demise of a jet fighter(once as USMC, the other as PLA, on Wake Island 2007), both times in a tank, they lined up attacking me head on, and in one case, slowed down almost to a stall, and my tank shell blew them apart.

not the BEST way to take down a jet, but its so lol when u land that lucky shot with sraw/tank and blow them away.

I saw my SL take a scoped potshot at a j10 coming to reload on wake, he shot the pilor out with one clean EXTREMELY lucky headshot, afterwards he was banned for hacking.
