Re: Point of using M95 in infantry maps

People who hate the M95 are just sucky snipers in general IMO. Sure the L96 crosshairs are easier so score headshots, but the M95 has powers, and it stronger than both of the other rifles [albeit not by much, thanks alot EA].

I use it all the time, I find it easier to score headshots with that plus I just love fat crosshairs...mmmm...

To be precise; the M24 & L96A1 take a Class wearing body armor down to 37.3% health.

The damage done by the .50 rounds (M95) on targets wearing body armor is different from the .308 (M24 & L96A1) or small arms as they are called in the material_damage chart ...

... the M95 always does 0.5 x 190 = 95 damage to an Infantry target, regardless of body armor.
        ... the M24 & L96A1 do 1.0 x 95 = 95 damage to an unarmored Infantry target
        ... the M24 & L96A1 do 0.66 x 95 = 62.7 damage to an armored Infantry target

There is no such thing as heavy or light armor in the game. There is either body armor or not.

well in real life its meant to be an anti tank weapon so you can guess why.

If you make an headshot you will get a 1 shot, 1 kill. Headshots are triple damage.

I know this won't happen but I was thinking it might be good anyway:

Why don't they make the M95 a one shot killer, but make it louder and give it a much longer reload time between shots to balance it with the othe sniping rifles?

It makes a loud noise that attracts people. And if you thought ahead, you would've already placed claymores.

Re: Point of using M95 in infantry maps

i love using the M95, it is much stronger then the M24 and Svd and that china sniper, but yeh the crosshairs are too fat and it doesnt sound as sexy as the L96 but untill i get SF its all i can have lol, but its the only one that can shoot threw cockpit glass, so i have my fun camping on the mountains on dalian playing with nades and waiting for the jap helo to respawn so i can snipe the pilot then attempt to snipe the co pilot....i still cant get use to the drop distance thingy... i guess im at like 300 meters and im only use to about 100 even 200, but the crosshairs are too thick, and if i could id modify the gun so the crosshairs were much thinner and Iluminated, but if i did that i wouldnt be able to join any servers...

IMHO, EA screwed with every sniper rifle in the game. the semi-auto snipers should stay the same at 4 shots in the torso for a kill, the bolt actions should be deadly, and i think the M95 should of been the Tier 2 unlock as its the only one that can shoot pilots...yet the damage is a little more then the L96 and M24, but its not a 1 hit kill weapon, when its a .50 round ffs, that is more then enough to kill you no matter were you are shot lol, the L96 should just have a little more damage added but w/e

how i feel with each of these guns.

                        M24 - a Light attack sniper for I/O
                        M95 - a Heavy attack sniper for Helo's and Jets - Never I/O
                        L96 - a Light and Deadly sniper for I/O
SVD - a Heavy and lame sniper for Karkand Only
                        Chinese Sniper - Pathetic.

Actually the Type 88 and the SVD aren't that different in (BF2) statistics, yet nobody likes the Type 88 (along with me).

                              yea they are nearly similiar
I was playing few hours with Type 88 and I found it more accurate and powerful to headshots than SVD

Thats total BS. you know sure it may be in an roe somewhere but its all political, we totally rip people in half and sh*t with the 50 machine gun! when you in war no give a f*ck what you kill people with as long as you dont like torture them. we shoot people with 50 sniper rifles. i was talking to a guy once in a spec ops sniper squad (called L.U.R.P in the early 90's) they shot a guy in the *** with a 50 cal and still killed him! They shoot people with 50 cal machine guns all the time, why not the sniper. plus we drop 5000 pound bombs on some little Iraqi hut to kill one guy but its inhumane to shoot someone with a 50 cal sniper :shakehead:
