The only advantage that the AK has is the GL. G3 does more damage, it's more accurate, and I prefer hand granades over the noob toob anyway. Nuff said.
Conclusion: It's a personal preference, just like the girls. Some like them fat and some like them skinny. What's better for you it's not necessarily better for me and vice versa.

Actually, Aside from the "preference" part...there is something incredibly valuable about the GL over grenades. You can target a wall behind an elevated prone target. With a grenade, you have to randomly toss them and hope you get close or it does not bounce off before exploding (or get shot while holding it for timing). With the GL, you can often reach out and touch people that think they are untouchable.

It is very rare that I would rather have a hand grenade over an GP-30. Hell, I would rather have 3 smoke grenades every round then 1 hand grenade.

For all of you that are favoring the AK, if the choise was G3 and AK without GL (like the one that the medics have), would your choise still be AK even though G3 does more damage and is more accurate? Now remember we are talking about 2 weapons here, not choise between the kits. Just make a choise between AK without GL and G3.

I would still go with the AK. I am not sure if it is me, and I am talking out of my a** here, but I feel like I have shorter sprint distance with the G3...Might be in my head...or maybe the time it takes to wield the G3 into firing position is slower then the AK.

But I also would rather have the bigger clip at times. That is a great point though, it is a tough call between the two!!!!

Whenever I use the assault kit, I would normally use the G3, since I'm not that good with the 203 and I don't really like the scope on the F2000, I'm better at using the iron sight on the G3 then the scope on the F2000. The G3 is really accurate when it comes to close quarters, and it can also be very accurate in long distance if you put it on single mode. In my opinion, the G3 is better then the m16-203, and the F2000.

I don't see any reason to go with the G3 when I'm MEC or China, because I kick *** with AKs. But when I'm USMC, I usually go with the G3 as assault, because for some reasone I can't kill anything with the m16.

I don't get the G3. Well I do, but I use Assault Class for one thing and one thing only and that's the grenade launcher... Sure the G3 is the second most powerful non sniper weapon in the game, but you can put more AK-101 or M16 rounds in a target in a shorter amount of time and you have a larger clip....

Good post. I'd still choose G3 over the AK because I don't use the GL (maybe it's about time to start) and I just like the accuracy and the punch of the G3. Btw it's got 20 round clip because that's how it is in RL.

M16: The M16 is generally the most accurate assault rifle, both because of the three shot burst and its innate accuracy. It is the least damaging assault rifle.

F2000&AK101: The F2000 has a slightly lower minimum deviation, and a slightly higher max deviation. However I would choose the F2000 over the AK101 because the F2000 GL has a much flatter arc than the GP30, making it easier to get long range kills. Also, the AK101 is more of a spray and pray gun. Generally you just point it at the enemy and fire. The F2000 is a real killer if you play the way I do (crouch instead of prone, stay under cover). But it can also be used in CQC which makes it the top of the list for me. It also has flashbangs which are a bit more useful than smoke grenades.

AK47: The AK47 is the most damaging base assault rifle. In full auto mode its accuracy decreases more than other base assault rifles as you fire multiple shots. But it has full auto fire and does a lot of damage so it may be preferable in CQC to an M16 or G36E.

Last: G3. This is the least accurate assault rifle on single shots, IN ADDITION its sights are "crooked". The actual place where the bullets are aimed is off to the right of the post. Its only saving grace would probably be extreme damage and normal grenades. If you compare the AK47 and G3, the G3 has a lower penalty for multiple shots, but is still extremely inaccurate.

Add to this inaccuracy the fact of only a 20 round magazine and a higher rate of fire than the other assault rifles and, well, the best way to put it might be this: High damage doesn't mean a thing if you can't hit the target, or if you run out of bullets before you do. If I absolutely had to use the G3, then I put it on single shot as soon as I spawn. It's more accurate and in CQC it doesn't make the clip run out as fast.

Never, NEVER listen to the BF2 descriptions. They may be based on reality (IRL the G3A3 is one of the most accurate assault rifles out there) but the only thing that matters is the actual stats.

Prove what? That I personally have had better luck hitting the target with G3 than with AK? Only after you prove me that for you AK is more accurate than G3.

its a good gun, its my fav assault cause the fs2000 just doenst work for me and i like a full auto option that the m16 doesent give. as for the ak-101 i never use it, its grenade launcher is horrible and even as medic the L85 is the best medic rifle.
