i laugh at that, becuase the last person that accused us of being 'jelous' was chain-gang, and he has mental retardation

          which brings me onto this...

nobody on the Internet is jealous of a guy that sits on a computer and has such a big ego he thinks people are jealous of him.

I like to stay away from servers where the admins have some stupid personl rules like no fighting commander etc. Commanders should definitely stay away from aircrafts but to be a commander and get kicked with the "no fighting commander" comment just because you are trying to defend a flag or defend yourself, that is plain ridiculous.

Activism isn't about bringing about instant change, but it's about raising awareness about a fault in the system. Eventually enough people will join in, to make us vocal enough to either get EA to intervene and your server shut down, or to teach the helpless newbies to avoid your server all together. Either way, it'd result in the death of what is widely perceived as the worst server in BF2 existence.

It's true. I'm jealous. I wish I could extort stupid people like yourself into paying me $15 a month.

It takes a special kind of mental disorder to constantly mistake negative attention for positive attention, and to actively seek it.

He can delude himself all he wants, but that won't stop me from having my fun, poking at his obvious character flaws. :yay:

Notoriety isn't fame. Notoriety is being put on the same level as Child Molesters, and Necrophiliacs, both of which I'm sure Illusion actively practices.

your also going to have to show allot of dedication and sit there in a empty room trying to fill it, your personal urge or desire too game is last on the list, filling your server is first witch requires patience and common sense. dont go crazy when theres only 8 people in the room and just own them up and down with a jet, your entire goal should be keeping people in that server and killing someone 3 or 4 times in a row usually sends them packing and your back to square one trying to get people in the server.

id say next should be one maybe two rules and nothing like limiting weapons or no bunny hoping, this just leaves room for another one of your admins to abuse the rule and people to grief and cry every time they get killed. of course the common sense rules apply, like no hacking or glitching but you dont have to list these rules, they are common sense. you also want your admins to be like ghosts, no threating people or citing rules constantly, you want ninja admins who can keep their mouth shut and deal with smacktards quietly.

you'll want to make sure you have a popular rotation combo or popular map, your server needs to provide something over the others for a player draw, all air maps or all infantry or FF off, something along those lines and most importantly something you enjoy.

it really all boils down to how dedicated you are in building the server and how much help you can get idling to build it up at first but once people see your server is fun or offers something they really enjoy youll start to see repeat players.

ohh and one small note, do not over whore your server on forums by begging people to come join, send you money or posting the ip all over, it just looks desperate. one or two of those are fine when you first start a server but dont overdo it.
+1 Great advice. I'll add something else. Pick a good host to start with. Cheaper doesn't = better. You get what you pay for blah blah blah. We were ranked in the top 40 servers with only 50 players competing against 64 player servers so I think that was a fair effort. The reason is that if you pick a dud host and need to change and obviously change IP you go back to square 1, like we did and have to start all over again because it seems most people join by favourites or IP so it will appear to them your server no longer exists. Almost 2 years with the same IP, then we changed and lost a lot of business.

Its important to have a good quality server. Go dedicated if possible. That way you aren't sharing with anyone else and you can monitor your servers performance to ensure it doesn't get overloaded. A smooth, lag free game server will keep people coming back. The added benefit is you can run more than 1 server and its cheaper in the long run.

Server setup is crucial. VOIP must be working. Battlerecorder is also good to have if its setup correctly and can mean repeat business as very few servers have it working properly.

Stream your server to Punksbusted.com that way your players know you are serious about providing an "as cheat free as possible server".

                                AKA, dA!Tiglath

It is truly amazing how people will ignore facts or let bad past experiences color their perspective. Sydus, if you are going to spout off about dA! members hacking and how you miraculously saved the day at least make sure the idiots you are talking about are dA! members. But thanks for providing the screenshots.

Yes, it is true that we kick so dA! members can get the key vehicles. Most players suck and don't actually contribute to the team. We (dA!) communicate via ventrilo so it’s easy to maneuver key vehicles to strategic points. And, for the most part, members enjoy using vehicles. What most of you don’t realize is that we sacrifice what we want for the good of the team. For example, I love to gun in choppers but I suck at it so if another dA! member is on and is better than I am I will gladly fly or just step out of the way.

We do not kick people from the other team unless it is deserved. If you want to fly a jet or chopper or get in armor go to the other team. Reasons we kick people from the other team; going solo in a chopper when the server is full/almost full, ramming, fighting while commanding, raping an uncap before getting most/all flags.

If any dA! member was hacking don’t you think he/she would have been caught? Claims that dA! members hack are actually quite funny and I would challenge any of you to prove it. It is funny how people that get repeatedly owned (sorry I don’t use “gamer” jargon) always claim someone is hacking.

If you doubt our integrity or basic friendliness talk to the xfi or nunya clans.

Feel free to flame this as well but really if you are going to throw libelous claims around at least try to prove your allegations. Yes, it’s true, we are sick of people coming in our forums complaining about being banned and for some reason believing the ******** they are spouting will be accepted as truth without verification. People get banned for a reason and usually leave out critical information when asking to be unbanned. In fact, the people that were abusing their ban responsibilities no longer have that power.

Say what you want about illusion but I guarantee you that if you played one round with him you would understand that he is not hacking, he is just that much better than everyone else. He may have been reset or pb’ed or whatever but he is an excellent admin, player and friend. So yes, if you attack him you attack all of us. From what I saw he was simply trying to help get a new server up and running; which he has done repeatedly for free. Maybe a quick “thanks for the info” or “thanks for contributing” would be appropriate. Instead many of you take a chance to jump on someone for something you know nothing about.

Lastly, I don’t remember which moron wrote it but someone suggested that they know more about the dA! members than even illusion does; that is just ridiculous. BTW, your mom is calling and you’re late for dinner.

p.s. my official ea user name is Tiglath as well. Fell free to rpeort me for hacking or stat padding. Also, I play Friday nights after 10 cst, Saturday nights after 11 cst and Sunday nights after 10 cst. If you think you are that good feel free to come in and test the waters or you can use this as an opportunity to catch me doing something wrong.
