Some of the screenshots I've seen here of errors are in xp am I right?
I haven't had any problems with the SAME hardware and XP. But in vista, it all goes to hell on all 3 sound cards (onboard realtek, usb, or sblive!)
I get similar problems with bf2voicesetup.exe stopped responding, but in vista.Comment

LOL, something really weird happened to my mic, and for some reason now the "mic" part is useless, but the one ear piece picks up the sound as if it were the mic. Me and my friend the bastardly thing for like an hour. We have no explanation for it... SO now my mic is just one ear piece that you can talk into and listen from at the same time. >.<

Yep, I'm having a voip problem also. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.
EA Tech support doesn't have an answer either.
Keep sending in support tickets though, maybe they'll patch it.Comment

Using a headphone as a mic is possible. Before I had a mic I just plugged a headphone into the mic jack and have it around my neck. VOIP doesn't know any different.
Can anybody answer this: DOES VOIP WORK IN VISTA???
I just want to know if its worth going dual boot to get bf2 running in xp.Comment

Yeah i can , U mean in the voice setup in bf2 right? Yeah if thats right, but still no working in game.
has to be a conflict problem of some kind, this is very weird, i was in game other day & guess what i heard somebody talking & shocked i said "can u hear me" replied "yeah why" , "i hear u good" , needless to say after that game it hasnt worked since. & yeah i play on servers with the headset "VOIP enabled"
so friggin weird. no wonder not many peep talk on them, & yeah i have give up on tryn to fix it.Comment

Yeah i noticed 1 time mine was working, and every once in a long while i'll try and it'll work. But i gave up on trying to get it working all the time, i think its EA's problem.Comment

Its weird, i was reading a older post on this after i'd posted my last post this moring & someone said that their problems was over after they uncheck the "use eax" box, so i went & done that , got in game , hit my talk key, the green light lights up , i hhit it a few times "ITS WORKING " I thought, 'WOW" , well i settled into teh game went to use it again & "IT NO WORKIE NO MORE" LOLOLOL, its gotta be EA, or windows or some kinda conflict, so i give up again :)Originally posted by Jimmy42000Comment

I think I figured it out!!!
I was given a link from Anthony C from EA and it solved my voip issue: http://ea.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ea.cf...celeration.php
Simply follow those steps and it should work fine for you. :)Comment

My VOIP doesnt work either, ive tried with friends and i cant hear them (i cant even tell when their speaking unless they type and say) and they cant hear me
I thought that lowering the sound acceleration would work after the two responses, but ive tried that and still when i go to the voice setup - i speak and no bar moves etc like it should
Looks like ill just have to stick to Vent while in game, but that only lets me speak to a mate or twoComment
