^then dont go on them I actually like them as I have a slower comp and I get tired of having to completely reload a map every two rounds. and with 24/7 maps I can pick the map I play i'm not at the mercy of the servers rotation.

        yeah, I understand that!

I actually loved my 24/7 Sharqi Insomnia server a while ago. It was sick how much I played that thing. I don't feel as hypocritical playing a 24/7 Sharqi server while hating all the Karkand whores. Because, even though I played massive amounts of hours on it, I still ran around to other maps...esp EF maps.

I wish EA would soon just give out EF and AF for free to everyone. Everyone who is going to buy it already has, they might as well boost the amount of people playing BF2 by giving them more stuff. Then all the servers could include great wall into the rotation and not have to lose 3/4ths of the players.

you know, what is bad though, to go back to SF, when the night maps came on, people would just leave the server. And I would think the same thing would happen. When you have a map like Midnight Sun, which is a clone of Dragon Valley, you would have people drop left and right. But anyone that loves Oman would flock to Operation Smoke Screen.

yeah, I wish they would just give them away too.

Our Server digital-Anarchy is the most popular all maps server and has been for quit some time...Now that we are 6th in the world we might just become the most popular bf2...We offer $15 a month for admin/clan member status...Why be a guppy when you can be a shark?

It a shame why people leave when night maps come on. I don't enjoy joy them at all but I personally think some skill is needed to know your way around the map at night no rushing in and running around like headless chickens. Much like the carrier map I hate that one as I tend to find I sit on the MEC island all round what should have happen is the choppers get taken out and boats could only be used to make it more balance. But, once more it down to teamwork and skill this is what BF2 is base on.

Went onto a sever with 40 people on with all of BF2 maps but as soon as Songhua Stalemate was the next map all left. What I have found out that small maps have some good teamwork and very nice people who enjoy using the jets and jeeps, apc and tanks great when everyone shares. Also this is only a personal opinion that admins are on most of these types of maps and nearly all play by the rules what are set up.

Funny I am getting back into playing different maps not the 24/7 Karkand and the nades fest. Much more fun in playing different maps

Many thanks for everyone comments so far

Mashtuur City was ridiculously stacked for USMC when the Blackhawk mini-guns were all powerful and flag capping was almost instantaneous with a full chopper. I didn't think that was fun. IMO Mashtuur City is now one of the most balanced and most fun maps.

Yeah, back when we had the BF2 Suggestions Area, and Colin from DiCE was checking it out, I recall a suggestion...might have been mine, to replace the guns on the MEC's Cow to the same explosive tipped rounds as the Havok. So the mini-guns just chop the hell out of infantry, and the Cow's cannons would just blow the hell out of infantry (just with a slower rate of fire).

Talk about balance! But of course, DiCE never feels they need to nerf-up a weapon. <---I love that quote, came from someone here at TBF2.

You know, leviathan is a great map if you were to have 64 players on a 32 sized map. That is a real firefight and could easily map it an outstanding map. It would be nice if that map was not so dark, like they could lighten it up a bit like Midnight Sun. And you know, I find that when I play on Iron Gator, I have one of the 4-5 fastest machines on the server, so when I spawn in on Iron Gator on the MEC side, I hit <Insert> and charge straight for the COW. People ***** that I take off and don't wait for other people to spawn in, but I am already hovering over the deck and most likely racing for the Mess Hall by the time everyone is standing around the helo pad. People just drag-*** when they are MEC on Iron Gator. And they go for the wrong targets when they get onboard.

I guess people leave night maps because their machines can't handle the dark maps. SF is notorious for being laggy nominal machines. There are also a lot of transplants from games like CS that do not want spread out, vehicle maps. And TBH, I like Songhua if it is fully loaded...or 16 map. It is defiantly a map where you can have many pockets of fighting, all independent of each other.

It is getting kinda late in the life of BF2 for people to rediscover what 1942 was about. But maybe people will finally tire of 24/7 Karkand and discover there are a lot more challenges out there than the 'meat grinder'

Oh yeah, I upgraded my machine several months after SF came out. You could straight-up feel the lag when SF ran compared to vanilla. Even now, with a more powerful machine, you can feel a big difference when going back to Vanilla BF2.
