Re: A future way to help discourage teamkilling

I think the whole punish-forgive system is a bunch of crAp, as is the idea of enforcing FF off as the norm. All the gaymore spamming appeared when a majority of servers adopted FF off for AT mines and gaymores. Take all FF off and you've got people C4ing their way to remote rooftops and even more nade whoring.
Introduce a 120 second spawn and then deliberate teamkillers will probably end up leaving the game by losing patience. Like an auto-kick.

You can't punish forced TK except when admin sees that and kicks/bans you

your exactly right. Ive given up on picking people up completely. whenever i go to get them, instead of holding e, they rub up against my car and get me a good tk. they do it for so long too, you cant go wrong if you hold e. im sick of it, if i get a dpv now i just drive off, saved me a ton of points.

yeah aside from accidental tk's... i think its a rad idea... cos everyone is playing (even in a team) for themselves and only themselves so they start to play rough... but NOOOO WAY do they want to lose a rank, medal, unlock etc.

well i try to help my team win, i die alot becaue of that, especially playin a medic I just run around chasing the injured & reviving, alot of times people stalk the dead waiting on medic to come that way they get 2 kills, and engineer you die alot repairng toys for the team, i mean i dont care much for the stats i just wanna play good, but your right alot only play for themselves. But how would EA distingish between purpouse TK & not on purppose?

I can see how it would be problematic for accidental TKs as well, especially for commanders with artillery, aviators, and grenades.

EVERYBODY does make mistakes now and then. Ultimately if this system were utilized, some honest, innocent gamers would indeed slip through the cracks and wind up with penalties. But the military in real life has punishments, both for mistakes and otherwise. You made the mistake(s). Now pay the price, and in the future be more careful.

Also, the biggest penalties would be dished out only to those who TRULY deserve them. Maybe an ingame vote to award a certain player a "mark of Shame"...much more powerful than just a kickvote.
Well if a commander is truly doing his job the right way, he shouldn't be anywhere near the combat so dying really isn't an issue. It might also make those hot shot jet boys actually look at what they're bombing instead of just roaring in and dropping their crap all over the good guys.

why accidents happen its not like Team kills are all intentional and its fine the way it is. Its not worht the penalties and it just gives force Tkers more power and usally force Tkers and Tkers are the same people. If a guy is tking too much it is the admins job to take care of it if the server does not have an admin its your fault for playing there.

Most places kick after the 3rd team kill which seems to work well. A vote would not work as people rarely vote in those things.

I used to play Halo. In that game you got time added to your next respawn time for a TK. On purpose, accidental, or forced it didnt matter it was still added. I think that would be a good thing for this game too. I believe 5 seconds per TK would be about right and the server should automaticly boot you after a certin period, maybe 2 min, with no score. This should be in addition to the current system we have. The auto boot shouldnt be an option it should be unchangeable. That way it would solve several problems this game has. Thats my 2 cents anyway. . . . . . . . . . .Red

its been mentioned but how would it detect what was an accidental TK, and a purposeful TK?

also the whole force Tk issue would just lead to people driving full humvees into the side of my tank, and thats happened way to many times already, i'd be busted to latrines at the rate some people force Tks

There will be no way to stop this that is why the system will not work. Admins are needed to stop TKing not some stat system penalitys. And what would happen a full demotion for 3 tks??? what about unlocks would they lose those?

I don't understand why people write about it being a good idea, only to mention the impossibility of actualizing it. That, by definition, makes it a bad idea...

I'll give you another reason why this idea wouldn't work: alternate accounts. Griefers and TKers would simply create "griefing" accounts to mess with people: BOOM, instant nullification of the system.

After all, you can't scare players into obedience when they have a way out.

Speak for yourself: I couldn't care less about medals, unlocks and rank, I just want my attack heli. To Hell with the rest of the Pavlovian conditioning...

Sloi, there are 2 kinds of TKers and asshats. Ones that indeed do care about their stats, and ones that are new to the game.

If youre going to bring yourself in as an example, I must point out that you probably have the "ranked" box ticked in your server search options...

What I find funny is so many people complane about tkers here and how there seems to be no way to stop then other then a rank penalty but then they complane about admins all the time.

Besides im never TKed that much when im infantry or when im getting in a vehicle but if someone tkes me for a jet I wait one minute for them to crash and then respawn and then what I do is cover the jets windshield with C4 making it so they cant see out of the normal view.

I remember this happened to me once on wake the guy said

Tker:ha n00b I can fly in the chase view lol jokes on you
Me: Dont you realize C4 has a detonator?
                              Tker: like youll do that
*while he was typing his last message he hit a tree on the middle island of wake I guess he could not type and look at the screen at the same time*

Tker:thanks alot noob you caused me to die

he comes back and Tks me I do the same to his jet again he takes off and this happens

Tker:Im not going to talk in chat with you anymore because I got a jet
                              ME: o rly *detonates C4*
Tker: YOU MOTHER ****** U DUMB *** GO EAT ****

Then he comes to the carrier and Tks me then I hear the jet start up then a dying noise and I see the player kicked message. apparently that last TK he commited on me puched him over the limit.

I agree with whoever posted the kickback idea.

So if somebody tk'd for a jet, they got killed as well.......
