Alright. I just tried that gain in SP. Humvee .50 cal DONT penetrate.

The F200-GL penetrates glass. I took out a few players in a heli with the nade attatchment.

Yeah explosive stuff do penetrate. But bullets with no splash damage dont. Exept the M95 of course.

Go to C:/programfiles/EAGames/Battlefield2/mods/bf2/objects_server.zip/weapons/handheld

then select the gun you want and open that folder.
Then open up the .tweak of that file and edit it and replace it.

*That's to edit BF2, it's shorter to explain than how to make a mod XD

Well if some of those DO penetrate, they sertainly dont do enough damage to kill the pilot.

L96A1 does. But I'm sure everyone knows that. I just confirmed it a while ago when I sniped someone in an MEC jeep.

We all (I hope) know that the m95 can penetrate glass. However, after playing my share of Battlefield 2 I have noticed several other weapons penetrate glass without destroying the cockpit.

Have you guys ever penetrated glass with any gun other than the m95?
Do you think this is a glitch or was put in on purpose?
Why do other guns not show as glass penetrating?

I like to harrass the cobra pilots with the M95, one outta ten time will i bring one down unless i get lucky with a headshot to the pilot, a good pilot will start smoking & take off for repairs, a noob pilot will stay there till i bring him down.

not sure if other weapons can penetrate, im sure explosive & tank rounds are obvious

Like on wake where cobras harrass , get a m95 & lay off imbetween the flags in grass & snipe the cobra's , pissss's 'em off big time.

I shot down two Z-10's last night with M95, Im talking shot down, not headshot the pilot out. I also got the pilot of a JSF, he was hovering at beach (wake). Ah so satisfying!!

Oh so long ago...dare I say when? 1972. I made my first thousand bucks when I was eleven throwing papers...1966. Ahem...CHOPPER PENETRATIONS...keep using "penetration" in a subject line and I might start telling some REAL stories.

I think this is important because as we all know choppers are a cheap way to ruin a good infantry assualt's day. Downing them should be a KEY. ANYONE in a position to do so should jump on it.

That said, since they smurfed the chopper armor the best way to down one is the vehicle mounted machine gun...preferrably the 360 turret type, but those others on the jeeps will do. IF you're in a tank, hitting F2 and firing on one is a good move, as well. Fire in medium bursts so as not to overheat the gun. You won't down it with one long burst. Look for the response on the gunsight to be sure you're hitting it. It starts to smoke sooner than you might think. At the very least you'll send it off for repairs which will give your team time to cap a flag.

Why this is cool is because there's always vehicles laying about, and it's hard for the pilot to see where the fire's coming from, unless it's right in front of him. As long as you can see it, you can hit it. Aim in the rotor spin slightly ahead of it. It's almost like shooting into thin air. But, imagine if two people are shooting at one from across the map in two different directions. The thing won't have time to peel off and find repairs.

Another reason this is a preferred method - by now all the pilots know where the anti-air sites are on every map. They methodically hit them first, before they attack. Finding that pesky vehicle is a little more difficult. Finding two, nearly impossible.

Screw sniper shots. Use those machine guns. F2 puts you in the turret. DOWN THE CHOPPERS!

U can chase away or blow up a chopter with two M95 clips.. And you will be ALOT more harder to find than if your in a jeep or tank.

Yes, and I find that if I stab at the air with the knife long enough, they also go away.

And if I empty six clips of a pistol into a tank, it makes then run off.

Yeah, the M95 does the do, but why drop your accuracy for such an endeavor as this? If they sit STILL long enough you still have the two shot kill on the pilot...remember he's the back/upper seat.
