    EA has left us

It is the fourth day now for the majority of us that don't have our stats updated. The server seems to be well frozen. Also, most of the people I have heard from including me; don't have any replies to their support tickets on the issue. This is it; EA has secretly dropped its support for the original Battlefield 2.

Regardless if they ever fix the issue or not, I'm probably not going to buy any more games from them. Four days of a major service used by people all over the world to be not working is way to long and extreme; it just tells how crappy a company is. Very displeased.

Do you really care about those "numbers" and that little pic next to your name?! Does no1 here plays for the GAMEPLAY..?? Damn.. Maybe support is dropped, SH*T HAPPENS DUDE! Sooner or later it happens anyway. Just like 1942.. And yet they still have full servers.. Keep on whining....!

idk, to me getting awards and **** IS part of the fun, compete with your buddies to see who can get what awards first etc etc
sure I know in the grand scheme of things stats dont mean squat, but in my personal opinion they ARE part of the fun

am I gonna go on living without them? YES its not THAT big of a deal, but its sorta like playing your favorite driving game and the car that you choose ALL the time is no longer available......sure the game is still playable but they took out an aspect from which you were used to and liked

The large majority of Battlefield 2 players don't play for fun like me, because the RPG aspect of the game has made me lose sensitivity to it. I've played over 500 hours of Counter-Strike: Source, and it was all 100% for fun. It would be the same for me if Battlefield 2 had no rank ups and awards, but sadly any RPG element can addict a person.

EA is just in it for the money, they don't give jack squat about their customers. I made this assessment shortly after they started patching the game with horrible crap.

And it's not the stats themself, it's the principle. They figure they're not raking in enough money from purchases to support the stat server, regardless of the billions they're already making and have made. You can't take out a large game feature just like that.

isnt every business just about the money?

and ranks and awards are part of the fun.

Would be great, when they put down all the stats and so on. :)

Get used to it. Thats what businesses do my friend. They make money out of you. I mean EA aren't just going to produce games for fun and smiles on peoples faces. they aim to make a profit.

Oh, i completely agree with you. I love setting myself targets and trying to collect all the badges and ribbons. Gives you a great feeling of satisfaction once you get a badge (even though they are not real).
