    Re: EA has left us

I just got a response from my customer support ticket, and it’s quite long. The underlining meaning is "There is nothing we can do", a cheap way to pretty much say they don't care about the game anymore, we got our targeted amount of cash from all you folks. They didn't even mention a single thing in the response that they are working on it, it was all "Massively multiplayer online networks are unpredictable". I could paste the whole thing here, but it’s quite long.

And the second part was to "help them" find out what is going on with the BF2 servers by joining one of their "EA Officially Ranked Servers", playing a few rounds, waiting 6 hours and if the stats don't update report how many points I have, how many kills, and some other stuff.

I'm going to wait several more days on this whole stats thing. After that, I'm pretty much quitting. EA is definitely one company I'm not buying a product from again if this does not get resolved.

Its not a problem with EA, thats the thing. Its a problem with Gamespy/IGN, as its them who supply the stats system.

Stats ruined the Battlefield franchise IMO.

Did you read the second part of that sentence? Of course every business wants money, but does every business completely disregard their customers and focus on little more than gross profit?

Who pays for the stats server? Gamespy/IGN are just supplying the stats system out of good will?

Stats are always slow on weekends, because that is when everyone plays.
Don't wig out, just because your stats have not updated yet. Also, use different stat sites, other then BF2s.
Other stat sites update your stats alot faster then BF2s does

have you been sleeping the past few days??

NO STATS SITES ARE UPDATING DUE TO THE MAIN STATS SERVERS BEING DOWN

BF2s, BF2Player, Formitron etc etc etc all get the info from the MAIN stats servers that are actually run by Gamespy, those MAIN servers are down and have been since early Thursday morning
it has nothing to do with the weekend, Highway Tampa, or EA
anyone that knows ANYTHING about servers knows THEY DO HAVE PROBLEMS NOW AND THEN, when the problems are worked out the stats will resume

Geez don't have a heart attack from yelling so much. They are just stats, not bombs or girls. They are just data, the stat servers will be fixed and then you guys can stop whining.

i play for the fun of this game, period. but what about that guy who just got Bf2? No stats means no unlocks. unless EA releases a patch with all the unlocks, but where the sense of accomplishment there?

Then just don't play the game for a little bit and wait until the stat servers are back online and working.

would be better if EA would release info on whats going on. instead of telling the pot boil over.

The stats put 25-40% of the fun in (depends on what type of person you are).
It's kinda stupid. Now, probably all of us are going to go to best buy (or whatever) and get bf 2142 because we want the same feeling as when you win at bf2. EA now officially sucks, but I'll still buy 2142.

i plan to buy 2142, but not just cause i want the stats. The stats are the only way to get unlocks, so EA has to fix the problem.

Well, in this case, yes. We are buying the BF2 and 2142 games in good numbers, so therefore, whatever EA and Dice are doing, its working. If the sales are coming through, they are not going to change anything. When the sales start to fall, thats when they will do something. And also, we haven't been completely ignored. We have had three new maps, 2 dirt cheap expansion packs which were very good, new game modes... What more do you want?

Well, not EA. Its the companies like Rackage, K-Play, Multiplay. They are the ones paying for the servers. You pay more for a ranked server because your paying for Gamespy/IGN to do the stats for EA.

Well, whatever. Time to get stuck on another game, like 2142 or some PS3 game. I will miss you, stats!
