Did you even read my post? That command line Hicks posted is to FIRE it, not to steer it.

      Oops my bad.

Having said that I'm sure I have seen someone set it up to guide it using the scroll wheel.

I want to separate it to make the mouse click a mindless activity. I want to take the pressing of the button off the mouse and make it a simple tap tap tap tap tap of the left hand and concentrate on guiding the missile with the right hand. I bet that anyone that tried it would have more luck with hits.

If you think about it, it makes sense. Any time you press a mouse button, you sacrifice a bit of mouse control, since the dynamic forces on the mouse were altered with the introduction of the downward force. Take that force change away, and better mouse control is achieved - critical when guiding a TVGM. Its one of the reasons the scripts work so well.

The MX518 is a decent mouse...I dont think it is the mouse. I think it is me making that last split second adjustment and simply not pressing the button hard enough.

What kind of mouse do you have? Maybe you just need a newer mouse.

Yes, but in order to steer it in the first place, you need to repeatedly click "fire". Instead of clicking the left mouse button over and over again, he wants to click a keyboard button instead. Its just replacing left click for keyboard click.

Edit: unless aiming the TV missile is directly related to the left button, and not "fire". Then there would be no way to change it, but like <<R2>>Capt>HKS mentioned, people have bound the "left click" to their scroll wheel, so they scroll up and down rapidly and it is like clicking really fast.

I've heard of "note to self", but it seems you've come up with "link to self". Great idea.

Re: Changing the TV Missle button

Guiding the tv missile is done here:

                ControlMap.create defaultGameControlMap
                -
                -
                -
                -
                ControlMap.addButtonToTriggerMapping c_GIOk IDFMouse IDButton_0

Simply add an alternative line with a keyboard button of choice...
