    Changing the TV Missle button

Is there not a way to use a key instead of the mouse to control the TV missle?

I can set a key to *fire* the missle, but once it is underway I can only control it with left-click.

I have tried it with Heli controls and Land controls. I can't remember for sure if I tried General controls.

I am curious if I would have an easier time controlling the missle if the clicks were key based. It pisses me off when a click doesn't register and I can't help but think it is bacause I am frantically making that last split-second adjustment with the mouse and I didn't left-click hard enough to register.

I have piloted enough, I want to *gun*.

I do not know why some don't register.

I do know it is frustrating.

You have to bind the INFANTRY fire key, not the helicopter. When you fire the TV, it uses the Infantry control map.

You can't bind the "fire" button to another key?

            I believe you can.

            Edit the Controls.con in Notepad.
            BACK IT UP FIRST!

:edit: I don't have any specifics. Sorry.

You're better off to not post than to post false info. No, you cannot change it.

I am trying to figure out, why you would want to change it. I totally understand that not getting the click to register has to be annoying, but why not just get a better mouse? You still have to control the cross-hairs with the mouse, but then click with a different button. Thats gotta be weird to learn, and you take the action away from one hand, and have to use two.

Jimi Hendrix learned to play guitar left handed and upside-down, so I guess anything is possible. But if it were me, I'd just spring for a better mouse and be done with it.

Yeah, that's why I have half my keys double bound.

Last night I got stuck in the tv screen where the crosshairs disappear, you can't get out of the tv screen and in the middle of the screen the Q spot list appears.

Whilst trying to get out of tv mode I hit the spacebar which fired the tvgm and allowed me to get out of the tv screen.

I believe the control to fire the tvgm is in land controls and is this line:
ControlMap.addButtonToTriggerMapping c_PIFire IDFMouse IDButton_0 0 0 (this is obviously to fire with the mouse)
ControlMap.addKeyToTriggerMapping c_PIFire IDFKeyboard IDKey_Space 0 1 (this does the same thing but fires using the spacebar)

You can change it from spacebar to any key you like. Remember this will also affect tanks/apc's etc.

Can you hold the mouse button down and guide it. That is what I always thought.

He's talking about steering, not firing. I have my fire key bound to the keyboard also, but to steer you must click.

No, he's talking about using the keyboard to click, and using the mouse to steer the missile numb nuts.
