Well im a sergeant.

You need to unlock the M95 first then go play a round on SF and it should say you get to unlock it...thats what mine did.

I LOVE the sound, AND! i got 5 leading shots on a road to jal map just before it felt great.

there is a difference between m24 and l96a1

+ L96 has thinner crosshairs

+ L96 does more damage

(to me, i think that with the m24 the bullet starts to drop sooner..:hmm: )

The L96 is like both the M24 and the M95.
-Has a good power range like the M95
-good enough to run around in close range with like the M24
The only bad things about the gun is that:
-Sometimes the rounds are not powerful enough to kill your prey like the M24
-Sometimes misses headshots like the M95
Ohter then those 2, the gun is very useful and is great to run around with.

There exactly the same except for the crosshairs and the L96A1 reloads a second faster, i'm not sure if the reload time is true i've always been lead to beleave there identical.

i really need to use the L96A1 more. i unlocked it when i hit first sarge, but still prefer to pick M24 as USMC. i think its mainly down to that when i first used it, its hit location is different to that of the M24 and M95.
Oh and i picked the SVD as insurgents over the M95 unintentionally the other day,so i just decided to see how i got on. and the kills just came in. i honestly thought it would be a pile of crap cause of the semi auto fire, but with the help of a sniper video, i already knew where to line up the shot, and they just rolled in.

I alays found i got more kills with the SVD than the M24 and Barrett.

And yeah you need SF to get it, but nowadays it shouldnt be much, i got BF2 and SF as a combined DVD pack the other week for £15 so SF on its own wont be much.

Seconded - the other reason I like the sound is it seems to make it harder for the enemy to locate you, (compared with other sniper rifles).

M95 = gigantic bullseye, you can hear the damn thing fire at the airfield while on carrier on wake

I hate the thing...Can't use it, doesn't aim the same as the M95 for me. Personally I take the M24 or M95 over it, can't bother my time trying to learn the thing and already have learned the M95.

my favorite thing about l9 is that i can shot right away after standing up and get a HS :P

and the thin! lines in Scope are best for long range.

The only difference between the L96 and M24 aside from thinner crosshairs on the L96 is that the M24 actually hits directly at the crosshair. L96 is slightly to down to the right.

The sound is cool, but not cool enough to make me choose the L96 over the M24.
