The Army already tried to get people to join by using a video game. It's called America's Army, if you ask me the game sucks, but i've been playing Battlefield 2 (which is the best multiplayer military game ever) that I find America's Army boring.

It ain't ignorant, it's called Patriotism and believing in the guys fighting for your freedom. The standard training is generally better than most other countries armed forces. And you forgot the SASR. Aussie SF, crazy *** Mo' fo's...

I may enlist in the British army, screw all the america high tech stuff, we have the best trained army in the world!! I'm probably gonna enlist in the Para's.

thats a matter of opinion. I'll definately put the SAS in the top 5 of military elements with the Seals, Rangers, Force-Recon, and Delta. But to just blatantly call their entire Army better than every Army on the planet is kind of ignorant.

What about the vetrans? Ive already been there, done that, got the uniform to prove it or should I say DD213. Oh those were the good ol' days. Ha ha ha ha. Sorry, just thought Id remind you guys there are a few of us vets here. I bet we could tell you some stories too. . . . . . . . .Red

Since when was the official discharge documentation classfied as a 'dd-213'? Its DD-214 and always has been. Someone's lying out their @ss to look tough

Bradley, your from switzerland right?? Do USMC let anyone from anywhere enlist (if thy pass checks and tests and all that)??

When I'm 18, I hope to enlist and become a Marine.

Or, get a Bachelor's degree in some sort of engineering, then join.

Maybe even just go through ROTC and join.

What does your DD213 say? My DD-214 (I think it's now changed to a D214) says that I served in the military :p

i have to say, this is a very good question. i have always been interested in this sort of thing anyway, and have thought about joining, although it has never been a deadly serious consideration. i wouldnt say playing has improved my influence to want to join but well tbh i dont really know if i would or not. guys who have some experience, what do you say? what was it that made you decide to join etc.

BF2 would be the worst game ever to act as a recruiting tool.

Now AA might do that. I`ve managed to stay alive heaps of times with lots of kills. But still, to enlist cause of a game is f*cking retarded.

although i think AA is a good game, to be honest all it is is a modern day form of propaganda bull ****
