    Helpful for the dodgy sights.
Yes and no. The Sniper Rifle reticles dont line up the same way for different resolutions. Check my post linked previously. I have been using that crosshairs link you posted for reference though. And stuff from PR and here.

Yeah the M24 is pretty much dead on whatever the res however the ones that are off line, that gives a slight idea of which part of the crosshair to use.

your best bett for sniping in BF2 is to go watch as many military documentaries about sniping as possible...history channel in particular...

adapt real life tactics to the game and you'll be unstoppable....remember that the sniper is a force multiplyer on the battlefield...take it from me, i shuld know....my average score is well beyond 20 kills for around 1 or 2 deaths as sniper alone...if you know what your doing and not playing like a CSS idiot, youll do great

Well i just got my first unlock and chose the Barrett

I was thinking about getting them medic weapon...the LR95 or something like that because i liked that when i tested it on a friends but i chose the sniper for now

i guess it just takes practise. Still suck at moving targets lol

put the Barrett asside and go back to the M24 untill you get the L96A2....or AWP for the CSS idiots....

the M24 is hands down the most accurate sniper riffle in the game....the only reason why you shuld get the L96A2 later on is that is has a thinner crosshair and you can see better with it at long range...

moving targets, forget about those....youll only waste ammo....lie in wait, take your time, pick out a stationary target, prefferably an enemy sniper

dont waste ammo on running men, you'll attract attention to yourself and get shot....alot

as for the medic, the L82A2, or the Enfield as its known is an ok weapon when in semi automatic....in full auto it has too much spread and dosent hit a thing....but if your gonna be a medic, stick with the M16A2....it has the best accuracy and handeling....if you practice, you can make some snipers lives a bit harder with it

My god you really dont like CS:S do you? or maybe you do, because of all the guns you've named only one of them is in BF2.

anywho OP, i also suggest to sticking to the M24 as its the most accurate of the 2 available to you, but that doesnt mean dont try the M95. also just stick to stationary targets at first. just spot the runners, or if you've got a lot of time, follow his path and maybe he will stop. firing at a moving target you know you cant hit wont do you any good, mainly because it will make him awares that someone is trying to shoot him and he'll probs try to find cover.

It's a good vid. Notice, Oronare, that he's exploiting BF2's poor hitboxes by aiming to hit NEXT to the target!

                    Check this out:

You can unload into a guy's chest and he won't flinch. It's something I'm just learning myself.

We have all seen that vid a couple of times, but you know what? It is bullcrap. If you want to hit a moving target over a distance with a Sniper Rifle you still need to lead the target. How much cannot be explained, its down to experience.

Re: Sniper - How to use the scope/bullet drop etc

Tip from someone who has played since the game came out.

With the current and most likely final patch I wouldn't try to shoot targets running adjacent to you, so pretty much running from one side of your screen to the other, with the dodgy hitboxes, lag, and BF2 itself there is a very small chance you'll actually headshot someone running like that. If they're running at you it's just like hitting a standing target, if they're running at a small angle still give it a shot.

Pretty much find yourself a good position were you're not to close to were all the bullets are firing and can't be seen easily. Use the bolt action rifles, they do more damage but have a slower reload but that mean you can one shot head shot people, the SVD (MEC Default Sniper rifle) is semi-automatic and most times it'll take 2 shots to the head to kill someone at a long distance.

What I do is find my target, keep my crosshair right on them and as soon as they stop running I line them up and take a shot, sometimes it's best to wait until you know they're not going to move for a bit because if you miss and they see you it's a lot harder to hit them because now they wont stop moving and if there's more then one enemy soldier around you might give your position away to them all and then have multiple enemies running at you which isn't good when you're a Sniper.

You need patience and the ability to line your crosshair up on a target quickly to be a Sniper in BF2 because without the patience you'll keep giving yourself away with all the missed shots and without the speed to line your targets up you wont get to many kills and if they are coming at you, you may not be quick enough to shoot them.

Good luck with the sniping dude, hope this helps.

Correct, at long distances you need to lead your target.

Yes thats what i would say..its only any good if you plan on shooting at cockpit windows.
And a sniper is meant to stay hidden,a very hard thing to do if you have the M95,its so loud that i have found countless snipers useing M95 and then they just get knifed.
