Yeah shame you can't pull up in an inflatable and thrown the grappling hooks over. Or what would be good are 'weak' points on the hull where you could C4 a hole and climb in. Not sure how realistic that would be though.
Once you learn your way around, 16 player Iron Gater is a lot of fun.
The worst maps in my book are.
BF2: Dalian Plant
SF: Leviathan
How could anybody list Dalian Plant as the worst Vanilla BF2 map, when you have Strike at Karkand, Wake Island 2007, and Sharqi Penninsula in the same list?
Leviathan is actually pretty fun also. I find Night Flight to be the most annoying map on SF. It's too darned small, even for a night map.

Oh, the Sin!!! Saying Sharqi! But yeah, Night Flight, that map is just so basic and lateral.

Sharqi is the only stage that is completely imbalanced no matter what Map Size you play on. The only difference is, the 16 playered map makes the MEC suffer, while the 32 and 64 playered maps leaves the USMC with a sore buttocks at the end of the round.
Can you say TV Station baserape with the MEC Attack Chopper?
The Worst maps of BF2 and SF and AF are:
Wake island
Fushee pass
Dalian Plant
Surge (36 and 64 size)
Iron Gator (16 size)
and
Midnight Sun
Ok. Why? That's a lot of maps to hate.
You don't have to explain for Wake Island and Dalian Plant because Im sure it's do to carrier-raping.
Im mostly curious about Fushee and Midnight Sun because I like both maps. Not protecting them or saying they're the best in BF2. I just want to hear someones perspective on why not to like those maps.

i disagree....sure the MEC having an attack heli spawn at their uncap is a little unbalanced, but there are countless ways to counter it...my favorite being to steal it....other ways are simply to man that AA....or park a humvee/vodnik somewhere and hop in the 50cal.....
if the MEC heli is raping the TV station, just spawn in the ground level and man that stinger, or TOW...or hop in the humvee that spawns down there and start shooting....or u could even spawn as AT....
my favorite thing to do is to steal their tank, and rig it with C4...take it to the beach house and steal their heli....ill park the heli somewhere safe and detonate the c4

You can steal the J-10's from Wake Island 2007 as well, but that doesn't make the stage any less imbalanced.
As for getting raped at the TV station? You're kidding right? As a pilot who used to ferry gunners around the TV station for 80+ kills a round, I know for a fact that the TOW, and the Stingers are both useless when a Helicopter hides at the east side, behind the TV station building. The cars that pop up into the view are usually quickly terminated by a TV-missle.
Anyhow, a stage is not balanced when you have to resort to stealing vehicles as your sole primary tactic to win.
It's sad that the three most popular maps in BF2 are the three most imbalanced maps.
Of course, when you think about it, it's not that suprising... Grenade and Tank whores love Karkand and the USMC. J-10 whores obviously love Wake and the PLA. Helicopter whores love Sharqi and the MEC. Everybody else is just there as a lemming who enjoy getting farmed by the big boys in their toys. (Popular maps are only popular because they're popular with the point farmers. Everybody else is a sheep.)
I would rate Kubra Dam as the fourth most imbalanced map in the game.

this is for bf2 discussion, IG is SF....but thats me just being a pedant.
anyway...no disrespect, but my guess is you probably havent played it that much, i remember the first few times i played IG - it was quite disorientating, getting killed by helos over and over, every spawn and trying to find where the hell i was on the ship... but you soon get used to it, i mean im no veteran of the map, 200 hours plus, its actually recently become my most played map, i love it and have had success 'storming' the ship mostly by trans.chooper flying high, freefalling to near the aa gun and going below deck, its not as unbalanced as many people think, besides war isnt meant to be balanced right?
overall i think its a great map, for making you sharp at infrantry hands on when you are turning into rooms and doorways quickly, good for your reactions, and there can be some good heli action, it does get tiring admittedly sometimes when one team has both choppers, but what can you do!
i think its a very good solid quality addition to the maps and gameplay for bf2 overall, its different!
