    Re: Mig-29 bombing

look, if you want to kill armor consistantly and minimize exposure to enemy fire, dive bomb , yeah you can kill apcs with a 2 second canon burst and a single bomb, but when i dive bomb mobile aa the last thing I want is for him to shoot at me as IM flying away from him, two bombs ensures death.

now as for infantry in the open, once you can get your bombs in a small area youll soon get the hang of how they drop and by flatening your attack angle youll learn how to change the impact location of your second bomb as you wish. I actually swing my bombs into buildings to kill infantry rather often.

the point here is, learn to walk before you run, if you cant bomb a tank by dropping both bombs in one location, you need to practice that first before trying more advance bombing.

as for level bombing, forgive my bluntness but that is a flat out stupid tactic that will get you killed, and as well only one of your bombs will hit where you want it too, not both. when I see the enemy plane do level bombing, I laugh because i know hes either new to flying or pressed his bomb release by accident.

If you want to start bad habits early by all means, level bomb and continue to do so, if you want to be a hard target and maintain lethality minimize your exposure, and drop down on unsuspecting targets. To prove my point try this, try level bombing a tank with his turret pointed at you or an apc, if hes lucky he might actually get a good shot on you and kill you, even worse, try level bombing on a mobile aa and he'll tear you apart... hell, even stationary aa will get a good shot on you since most people look along the horizon or skyline, fact is, most of the people who are recommending flying level to bomb here are not good jet pilots or lack experience if suggesting so is a good tactic.

one more thing in closing, when you drop your bombs in a fighter, listen to the clunk sounds. If you start changing direction or pulling out of your dive before your second clunk, your second bomb will veer off in whatever direction you pull in. so wait for the second clunk to ensure your bombs both hit in the same spot.
