I love getting a flag neutral, then hiding to see 10 guys throw all their nades and go in, then I throw two nades, and shoot em them throw the other two to finsih 'em off.

When I bought the game in June of 2005, I really didn't think that I would like it, as I was not really into "war sims" and never played BF1942 or BFVietnam. I LOVED Far Cry and was big into Half Life 2 Deathmatch. Anyway..since spending $50 on this game...I have spent almost $6000 in hardware..to mainly play this game. I have about 1300 hours on it and I am not bullsh*tting. $SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS.

Headsets, joysticks, more ram, better CPU, 24" monitor, $750 for an 8800GTX, and the list goes on and on.

So....I just wish that there weren't so many noobs on there starting ****. I am a 38 year old gamer and when I get on servers with mature adults...it is fine. Unfortuneately, the server I normally play on is CHAPSHQ.com Wake..and it is rarely full enough so I go to others. I mainly play wake island because I like to snipe..but when the kiddies arrive....everything goes downhill fast.

I guess I will hang in there...but I just felt the need to vent! Thanks for listening.

P.S. YES.....SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS because of my love for BF2.

i spent £600 to play bf2 and i own players with way better mechines than me hardware aint everything sound i a big part when i play i listen where people are and from that i can think of the best way to kill him.

I think (Yes I really can think) that you should try some mods. Like EoD, DCon, Project Reality (Great community, no immature kids), Sandbox, etc.

So you really should try these. Sandbox is pure fun. PR really simulates you into the game. DCon brings back the DC Feel of BF42. EoD, great sounds, great content, nice maps, and a lot players that play for FUN

Remember kids, always play for fun.

well im getting tired of all the nad throwing in IO mode when you go to take an enemy base every1 starts throwing nads when your on the recieving end of that it does get very frustrating.

thats why you travel in packs they cant spam nades at you if you have overwhelmed the flag rather that just snuck into it. The thing about karkand is its more like a chaotic frontline battle rather than players spread across the map.

If you like the BF series but find yourself getting tired of vanilla or the ranked community that is too focused on stats/badges instead of playing for fun then thats when you should be either taking a break or branching out into mod land. There are quite a few high quality mods out there...all worth trying...those worth playing will depend on your taste. Most of these mods will either give you a new experience/gameplay style(PR for example) or some will take the vanilla feel and improve on it heavily(see POE2 imo). Either way there is lots of new content out there waiting to be played and I urge everyone to take a look.

I feel your pain budd... BUT (and there's *ALWAYS* a but), I recommend you play on ranked servers where you get a good ping, or, better yet, servers that have Team Damage turned down (like our servers).

All's fair in love & war, but the CHIZZEEP SHIZNIT really makes for a bad gaming experience. I got turned-off and just walked away from MMOGs for a few months, but they suck you back in like any bad habit ...LOL

Don't get my wrong...I have really enjoyed playing this game..but lately I am getting VERY tired of CHEAP sh*t that goes on during a round. I am not accusing anyone of cheating...so that is not the theme of this thread. I am talking about what we all hate....AT rockets going right thru vehicles..only to have the guy hop out and ONE SHOT kill you. Yesterday I parachuted onto the carrier (USMC had 3 land bases) and I jump into the enemy chopper. This guy spawns and is running at the chopper. I fire ALL 8 MISSLES at him and they explode all around him...not killing him..but allowing him time to put C4 on me and detonate it. 2 days ago...I spawned on the carrier at wake and grabbed the F35. I circled around on a J-10 and fired ALL 6 missles at CLOSE RANGE on his ***. You guessed it..they ALL MISSED and two of them hit my friendly chopper and I got two teamkills -8 and then people were questioning me. "Yo haze..why are you TK'ing". I put 27 shots into this guy last night with the G36e and he flops onto his stomach...squeezes off three shots and kills me.

Yeah..I know... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. But this is finally wearing me down to the point of sheer frustration. Anyone else getting tired of CHEAP kills?

I second that. I'm pretty much done with BF2's crazy hijinx. It was fun in Team Fortress Classic, where it's expected, but not in a modern-warfare themed game. I'm sick of the leap-frogging medics, the front-line 'combat' snipers and their claymores, sick of the roulette-style, dice-rolling, Vegas-style gamble of a shoot-out each time, and the waaaayyyyyy too many "OMFG, such f'ing BS!" moments in this game. After the 300th time a bug happens, it's not funny anymore.

When BF2 first came out it was pretty good, but subsequent patches have changed it into a whole other game, wildly exaggerated and crazy.

I don't need or want true 'realism' in a game, but I want to at least have an 'illusion of reality' in a game. BF2 is so out there now that it's just not believeable anymore, and I'm sick of complaining about it.

Now i've only been around for the 1.41 patch so i don't know how the game has changed. But i still don't understand why everyone complains about the patches and how 's**t' they are. Please someone explain.

Thanks to all the great posters. I downloaded the Project Reality mod the other day and when I jumped in and played...I was a bit disappointed. The gameplay was different enough to put me off. I might try Point Of Existance. Heh...I purchased S.T.A.L.K.E.R. when it came out a few weeks ago. I played that POS for about 30 minutes before deciding..THAT SUCKS. It was wierd...but I was comparing it to BF2 (Graphics, gameplay, weapons, etc.) and it just DID NOT measure up. The guns SUCK and you have to be right on top of someone to kill them. The multiplayer was horrific...not much better than a slightly prettier version of Rise of the Triad. (Old dudes here will remember that game.)

Oh well....I will try some mods...and prepare myself for the deliciousness that will surely be packed into Quake Wars:Enemy Territory.

I built a pimp rig in November in anticipation for it. All I lack is Windows Vista for DirectX10 capability...but with all the complaints about Vista...I ain't switching for one game. Microsoft CAN EASISLY implement DX10 into Windows XP...but they won't. BASTARDS!

ya i REALLY want a patch that fixes everyting and makes this the perfect game ( i know its a lot to ask) but either way i will keep playing this game for a anotehr 5 years probally
