Every gun is just a compromise between speed (RPM), power, and accuracy. Let me compare 2 for example:

L85A1 and Ak101

-L85 kills in 3/5 shots to the chest, ak kills in 3/4
-both shoot at the same speed.
-l85 has better accuracy.

so you can see that they are balanced, but they are good in different situations, L85 being the longer range weapon.

as for you getting killed, just keep playing, ull get the hang of it eventually. I remember when i first played i got killed so much, but the more you play the more you will learn how to STAY AWAY FROM TROUBLE, and be an effective killer.

it takes at least 4 hits to kill anyone with spec ops guns, and if youre on full auto at any range at all, youll probly only hit with your first shot and then the rest will be off. the cone of fire increases a ton with full auto. fire in short bursts, even if the gun has an automatic setting. and with sniping, there is negligible bullet drop, but there is travel time and lag, so you do have to lead a little.

New to BF2 but not FPS's. However I cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on. Everytime I open fire on someone, often with the SF's gun or assault gun, MEc, US whatever don't matter, I can put 4-5 rounds into someone and they turn around, drop and pop, I'm dead in 1-2 shots. I'm always crouched or prone, zoomed or not zoomed, nothing matters. I've often had many people take 4-5 shots, turn around standing and moving and blat, I'm dead.

I understand headshots and body armor but christ, it does this ALL the time, and no way everyone is always getting a headshot on me.

Are the unlocked guns that much more powerful than mine or what am I doing wrong? Tired of shooting people only to be killed in .5 seconds. Never experienced this on CS or previous FPS's.

When in doubt, take one of THESE and rip the sh!t out of everything.

Part of the problem is shooting people in the back. It is part of the "user friendly" thing EA is doing to BF. I think we have 3" of steel on all our backs. I stopped shooting people in the back a long time ago. I would rather try and stab them you have a better chance and they won't turn around until the second swipe.

everyone complains about this...it is quite typical.....

ask anyone, they will tell you unlocks arent any better, they're just different....M95 has the ability to shoot through vehicle glass for example...but not that great for long range sniping......its just about prefference and which one fels best for you

Yes exactly, like I don't use G36E, but M16A2 is great for me!

Others will only use G36E...but not M16A2.

Same with all the other unlocks....everyone has his/her different opinion.
