I'll venture a guess and say software assistance?

I was just going to say, it's probably just a lot of late blooming gunners: after all, it's a hellofalot easier to click on target than actually fly the bird. So many people are looking for taxi rides now...

He's more skilled than you, that's how.

Yes, I know. Quite a rare occurrence.

no I know its possible to gun with high ping

wer talking about two kinds of lag, hitbox lag and actuall lag that makes ur game skip every second

            think about it

              Let me guess -

You get to actually guide the TV missile 1-2 seconds AFTER the launch, and then it will stutter like a retard all the way to te target all while being at a constant 5-15 FPS.

Thats why I never really learned choppers...

it starts at like 90 ping for me, might be different for others

Haha, try with a ping of 650, which is what I get up here. It's pretty depressing, lol... but believe it or not, I TV'd a heli in the one server I was able to play 2 minutes in (before getting kicked for high ping).

Re: Looking for a heli buddy.

If anyone would like a gunner, I need a lot of airtime!! I have mainly been pounding the ground as a foot soldier and have avoided being in the air much.
Well I need some serious points to get to 1st Lt, so I guess it is time to get off the ground and start being a helo gunner!! I will save flying the birds for a little bit longer...lol

I normally have a decent ping, and I have a 2000dpi mouse so my reaction time is good and I do know how to use the TV missles very well, so if you ever want a gunner, just let me know.

Ping is responsible for hitbox lag, a bad connection / packet loss makes your game skip.

Of course, this guy might have been using Game Experience Enhancement Programs™ but you never know. I routinely play on servers with a 250 ping, don't usually have a problem with hitting anything but the J10. Of course, when I hop on one of the 20 pinged servers I can't hit blackhawks...

i get a high ping of 1100 when i shoot and kill a jet with a tv missle. only a jet though. it's weird. usually my ping is 50 to 100, and i pwn from above.

Which is the reason I said that the word YOU was in GENERAL. Soloer or not. I have no right to tell people to get out? Man, "GET THE F*CK OUT!" key was coded into the commo rose. Looks like I have every right to ask people to leave the chopper. Its their choice whether or not they will comply. And then its my choice whether or not to do something about it. Besides, if I take the chopper first, shouldnt I have the right to the chopper? Gunners seat or not, first come first serve.

Youre contradicting yourself. Youre talking about an equal chance to take the helo and youre talking about regulars. These two shouldnt even be on the same page. Im also the kind of guy who only visits a server at once, maybe 2 at the most. I like being a regular, I like to know the guys I play with. It makes more fun. And, I gladly give away my seat to the regular chopper pilots. HOWEVER, I do this out of being a gentleman. They arent hogging the jets I fly, I return the favour. But I always know, that if I ask them to, they would give me a chance to fly a little, as I would give them a chance to fly a jet. Hell, I would even land it for someone who asks nicely.

On the other hand. If I hop into a server randomly, I do not care about whether or not youre a regular. Youre all the same to me. These rules of gentlemen exist between themselves only. Do not expect a stranger to follow them. Since theres only 1-2 helos, the guy with the least shame goes furthest.

No arguments whatsoever. But arent you really contradicting yourself here again? Whether or not he dies, he has a chance to get the helo again as he has paid for it. If youre going to start counting times hes been hogging it, and apply the "hes paid for it" logic, you will lose. And I will call my lawyer to cash in for damages.

Confucius was an as5clown. And youre an as5clown if you assume Im one. Im putting my own fun before others because Im not a saint. I do not even consider for a second that anyone would put MY fun in before others. I will not TK for any asset. I keep my behaviour in check aswell as my language. But when I feel like flying choppers WITH a friend, and I get the pilots seat, and you wont budge. Youre off. The fact that I RARELY fly/flew choppers really means that Ive redlined probably about 10 or so people. And even then there was a protocol involved. The one you failed to describe in your scenarios.

Nope. 90% of those jackasses were random newbies who wanted to try to gun. A few were seasoned copilots I simply didnt want to fly for because I had my own gunner and a few, just a few were the other couple who wanted to fly, and didnt aknowledge that I had the pilots seat.

Because youre constantly contradicting yourself and are playing on both sides?

Every server has an X number of PLAYERS I dont give a rats as5 about who want the slice of the pie. And that X number of pilots dont give a sh!t about me either. Its up to me to A) never try any asset because Im a nice guy or B) fight for my slice and keep the collateral damage to the minimum. I was A, now I dont really mind if people are B. Plus, regular or not, youre all the same. To EA, to God and to me.

Actually, if you want to play by the "I paid for the product" rule. You should already accept that youve lost. Hell, by this logic wed be counting the time anyone has used the chopper. Fvck Sloi! Hes been hogging that Cobra for X hours now! Stop him, let me fly now! Hes got his moneys worth!

No. You paid for the right to ENTER the server. You didnt pay for flying the chopper. You and me will duke it out and whos more of an as5hole, will get it. Thats how it works. If you choose to not to be one, more power to you. But when I feel like flying a chopper once every few weeks for once, I am not really interested in waiting 6 hours until I can get a chance to fly with my friend. No sir.

If they show attitude when I ask them to leave nicely, yes.

You forgot the part where you die 15 seconds after takeoff in a helo vs helo duel because your gunner was an incompetent newbie.

Now thats a lot of steaming pile of BS. Youre basically saying that I can never be sure that Im lining the gunner up properly. Guess what, properly doesnt mean a straight zeroed head on shot. Thats why the missiles are GUIDED. Im giving the gunner the most optimal shot chance, and hes going to do the rest. If he cant, hes a lousy gunner. Period. And even with a 150 ms ping DIFFERENCE between the pilot and the copilot, the only negative thing would be lag.

Actually I do see it. Youre saying that if I line you up, the target may not be in your POV? I have yet to see that happen, or hear for that matter. Dont be so desperate.

I have fun from the TS convo, the teamwork from my friend and the TRUST in my gunner. Otherwise I may aswell just solo.

Not likely. I fly with my nose pointed into the ground at minimum altitude so youd likely to crash. Fail in both scenarios. I act like a dickhead if you act like a dickhead. No need to twist it in any direction. You fail to aknowledge that me and my bud will do better for the whole team than with you, and you stay in the chopper. So when you get redlined youre offended. What should I feel when Im flying for someone I simply do not have fun to fly for? Leave the chopper to you? Just so when you die you can crawl back? F*ck no. Be a dickhead and I will get it all back to you tenfold.

And youre probably working for the Bush administration because the "scenario" you wrote up is a waste of electricity.

                                Heres what I do.

                                A. I dont have a gunner.

Well take off, if you plink at the chopper with the cannon- I will redline you or crash us.
If you use wrong weaponry at a target thus showing your incompetence- I will redline you, or crash us.
If I see you using the RIGHT weaponry- I will give you as much chances as you need to. If we die, and you hop in again, Im going to exit and do something else.

                                B. I have a dedicated gunner.

Youre most likely going to be redlined or crashed if youre not going to budge.
                                Perspective, other way round :p

Get out key was in the commo-rose for the times you need to tell everyone to bail the f*ck out the blackhawk before you get TVed.

First come first serve indeed. But that doesn't mean if you're in the heli, your heli-buddy has an automatic right to be in with you.

People with the least shame - that's my exact point. I've seen more shame from heli buddies. Everything from redlining, m95ing, tking and c4ing.

Confucius very wise man. He say: you *******.

You've redlined 10 people? Congrats, I also have a "heli buddy", number of redlines = 0. Guess I have a higher tolerance than you. Like I said, the skill of my gunner really doesn't affect me.

" Nope. 90% of those jackasses were random newbies who wanted to try to gun."

You and I have had different experiences. You like to generalise people based on what you see, that's not a good tactic.

" Because youre constantly contradicting yourself and are playing on both sides?"

God forbid the world isn't black and white.

"Every server has an X number of PLAYERS I dont give a rats as5 about who want the slice of the pie. And that X number of pilots dont give a sh!t about me either."

                                Playing on the wrong servers.

"You forgot the part where you die 15 seconds after takeoff in a helo vs helo duel because your gunner was an incompetent newbie."

The pilot should deal with enemy attack helis, pure and simple. I just fly right up to them and take them out of the air with hydras, because hitting a heli with a TV is very inefficient. You either drive them into the ground as they do your typical competitive/boring range game routine, or you kill them. Sure, if they have a competent gunner you die if you're not twice as competent, but that's where differing tactics & play styles come in.

The only times I've ever died 15 seconds after takeoff in a heli vs heli duel is when I was the noob and didn't evade.

"No. You paid for the right to ENTER the server. You didnt pay for flying the chopper. You and me will duke it out and whos more of an as5hole, will get it. Luckily, they have these things called "32 player servers" where air vehicles are free for a dedicated heli team.

"Now thats a lot of steaming pile of BS. Youre basically saying that I can never be sure that Im lining the gunner up properly. You can't. Of course properly doesn't mean a straight zeroed shot (which are harder to hit, IME, believe it or not).

"Actually I do see it. Youre saying that if I line you up, the target may not be in your POV? I have yet to see that happen, or hear for that matter. Dont be so desperate."

You most likely play on low pinged servers. I play on US servers mostly with 100-160 ping, with my gunner having similiar. When the ping between us = 400ms, the TV comes out almost 2 heli lengths to my side. I have to lead the target by an equal amount to get a dead on lineup.

"I have fun from the TS convo, the teamwork from my friend and the TRUST in my gunner. Otherwise I may aswell just solo."

And I have fun in teaching random noobs to gun, and be better team players, because they don't have to put up with an *******/jerk of a pilot. Different principles...

"You fail to aknowledge that me and my bud will do better for the whole team than with you"

If I'm being a noob I'll gladly get out. Principles, again. Teamwork, or winning, is a MEANS TO AN END. The end is having fun, pure and simple.

"Just so when you die you can crawl back? F*ck no. "

Precisely my point. I see this from heli buddies far more. Generalising experiences, as again.

" And youre probably working for the Bush administration because the "scenario" you wrote up is a waste of electricity."

Excellent, compare me to Bush. Utter genius... Wait, it didn't work back when Bush senior was in power... and doesn't now. DIAF, for that.

Well take off, if you plink at the chopper with the cannon- I will redline you or crash us.
If you use wrong weaponry at a target thus showing your incompetence- I will redline you, or crash us.
If I see you using the RIGHT weaponry- I will give you as much chances as you need to. If we die, and you hop in again, Im going to exit and do something else."

I've killed almost as many helis with the cannon as with the TV. Windscreen...

"If you use wrong weaponry at a target thus showing your incompetence- I will redline you, or crash us." The only thing that applies to is chaingunning tanks and TVing infantry. But guess what? I see this from mostly heli boyfriends.

                                "B. I have a dedicated gunner.

Youre most likely going to be redlined or crashed if youre not going to budge."

Confucius say, buy your own server and call it "dA!", then you can be an ******* in peace. Good thing the servers I play on insta-ban dickheads like that.

Seriously, you might as well come right out and say it: "we want you to do everything for us!" Yes, a lot of us can chaingun alone, but it's usually a waste of time to deal with your petty infantry problems when enemy helicopters, APCs and tanks are re-spawning and pose a bigger threat. Asking your helicopter crew or soloers to concentrate on soldiers is stupid.

I play the game with a meritocratic system in mind. I will gladly give up my spot in the helicopter if a more competent player comes along: however, I will never give up my spot in the helicopter if a less competent player comes along, no matter how long he's been waiting for the seat. Yeah, I'm an @sshole.
1.) Indeed. Nobody said otherwise IIRC. If I did, disregard it. In the 60 seconds of time you buy, though, chaingunning is good for attrition.

2.) Good system. No, you wouldn't be an ******* for that, unless you routinely redlined random people purely based on skill.
