Wrong. The first evasive maneuver an FPS player does, is bash the jump key. In BF2 bunnyhopping work(ed) only because of one thing - Random Cone of Fire. The hitbox issue is indeed there, but it only appeared when people were SWITCHING STANCES at high speed. Bunnyhopping didnt screw up anything.

If the guns actually shot straight, hopping wouldnt work. Like in CS.

You can still bunnyhop in CS, it takes a lot of skill but you can just whizz through a level.

      Plus there's the flash-boosting exploit.

You mean the one where you wiggle, doing that strafing and turning thingy in midair? Useless really for combat, dont you think?

Not when you're moving full speed, because then you can aim in mid-air, you simply take huge long hops. And accuracy with the AK jumping is like the accuracy with the AK standing in BF2.

Flash-boosting is the worst, it's the equivalent of glitching in BF2.

It screws up hitboxes, plain and simple. Therefore, the player is exploiting this weakness.

            Exploit.
            rofl absolute rubbish.
take it from someone who plays lots of fps games... its down to aim...

Im not a veteran CS players but I regularily watch my brother play it (gets me sleepy fast), I dont see anyone hopping like that. I see him practice it, and its useless in combat.

Then again, Im talking of 1.6.

Take it from someone who plays a lot of fps games as well. My aim is fine.

Bunnyhopping works. That's why players do it. If you think the majority of us who have played for awhile can't adjust our aim for bunnyhoppers, sprinters or any other kind of evasive action, then you're spouting absolute rubbish.

Not me. I doubt I'm the only one. I use cover, sprint, sometimes a hop to jump over to cover, or to respond to someone else's hopping, or to get an extra boost around a corner. you won't see me bunnyhopping around in combat.

That is probably true. In any case, it still works and exploits, as in to take advantage of, this 'randomness' in the game.

Lag may play a large part in all this, and in my gaming experience in BF2. All I know is a sniper should not survive my massive cone of fire from a PKM at short range, as he bounces INTO my bullet spray (I'm shooting him in the gut and chest) and somehow either knifes me or lays a claymore on me.. Ridiculous.

They crippled that in 1.6 looong ago IIRC, but it still works in CSS. I've only seen it used in combat in videos though, I've never randomly hopped on a server where people use it (apart from surf/cssrpg servers).

And while it may be fine, you probably have missed that "little" thing alled random cone of fire. Bunnyhoppers, IF they exploit, exploit THAT and not the hitbox mesh issues.

Lagshooting, using weapons that suit for the task at hand, strafing. All really easy maneuvers.

Not me. I doubt I'm the only one.

That's fine, but the result is the same isn't it? The action of bunnyhopping is the same isn't it?

You probably missed it as a statistical claim where it was just a jab.

While the result is the same, its not exploiting by any means. Its reflexes and in game "common sense". You say "hitbox" in BF2 server and 60 players probably ask "WTF?" with 3 saying "is that a toaster"?

They jump because they know the guns are inaccurate so they MAYBE have a chance to get to THAT corner.

if your aim is fine, why are u moaning about jumping players being hard to hit? its clear you and others cant aim.. otherwise dodging jumping and strafing wouldnt help others survive.
are you going to call strafing an exploit in cs 1.6 as well? i mean since its so wrong to do anything you can to avoid the other players bullets....

u want everyone to stand still so you can hit them... not gonna happen. suck it up nub.

yea ok.... like in quake you dont spend 90% of your time bouncing off walls in the air.....

i sure you guys would cry IRL if you played quake 3 or Unreal Tournament, how would you cope when everyone is in the air or doing side jumps or wall jumps!

Stop making fool of yourself. If it saves your life it pretty much works.

Bunnyhopping does not kill enemies, but it gives you the needed split second to probably kill him while he's confused. Now why don't people just shoot bunnyers? Because they do get confused and stop shooting, miss or whatever. And why do people get confused? Because they are new with the situation and not used to it, some call people like this noobs.

I do feel bad sometimes when someone shoots me in the back, i jump, turn and while he's waiting me to land it's already too late for him to start shooting again. Pretty much the same thing as shooting those who try to knife you when you're lying and you hear them and shoot.

Wrong. I consider myself an 'advanced FPS gamer' and I don't bunnyhop like hell, and I get a pretty good score (Combat score) anyways.
I don't care how advanced you are but if you don't do anything to live you can't be that good. As I said, bunnyhopping does not kill enemies, but confuses them and saves you if you're reloading or shot in the back or whatever.

In CS:S bunnying does not work while moving because players move slower and can shoot always (no sprint) and it's ridiculously easy to aim for the head anyway. It may work if you're reloading and being shot at with pistol for example. But generally death comes so quickly that bunnying does not pay.
