I think it's not really a good idea. Vanilla maps just weren't designed with hooks and ziplines in mind.

Exactly, it adds a new dimension to the gameplay.

SF would be played a lot more if it were a booster pack like af or ef instead of an expansion. I like SF, but I hate having to restart my game to load it.

Yes grappling hooks and ziplines does give a new dimension to the game. In special forces! It's not dead its great! Better than the original even.

SF dead? I think not. Grappling hook on Karkand would only give the nade spammers more scope.

SF is NOT dead. I play it everyday and there are plenty of servers. Grapples and Zip lines are intended for Special Forces, thus the name of the game. And I agree, that adding these features to Vanilla would only help king nade spammers. I suggest that if you enjoy grapples and zip lines so much, then try playing SF more and get away from the Karkand spam fest.

Grappling Hooks are also in Project Reality, maybe a few other mods aswell.

really how do people come up with these hypothesai? Have you seen any other game, after 2 years, have NEW content, ripped from expansion packs?? Same goes with the "removal" of ranking systems.... Thats never happened before, why would gamedevelopers start now??

um, alot of companies add more things to their games, years and years after their release.

epic were and still are giving FREE bonus packs
valve added maps and content for free

so it does happen..

Yeah, introducing new content is fine, but why in hell would any business offer an exclusive item for free all of a sudden? It would make no sense, and be unfair to those who have paid for it. It doesnt happen. "all EA cares about is money," for people who think this, sorry to break it to ya, but every business wants money, That's reality. And yes, EA is a business.

lol, or considering the pain it was over a year ago, with a decent setup now its around 1 minute from loading bf2 up to quiting and having SF's logged in :p
