a good mouse helps for sure i used a crappy ball mouse for a long time then only 2 weaks ago go a high preformance laser mouse from logitec (recommended for sure) whent back to snipeing noticed it was much better it was easyer to aim for the head you have more controll and it's really smooth it cost me 30 pounds but it's worth it

The reason I was prone was because of an APC firing in my general direction. If you go prone you will stick out, when you crouch you wont. If you have the knife out that is.

I always prone not crouch because i stay behind the bush rather than the center and i snipe through the leaves, there are only targets in front of me and none behind so I have nothing to worry about.

btw if you manage to bomb the scan, if you can get into a good sniping spot that is also near the scan, you can snipe any engineers that repair it and nade any supply boxes.

I find myself using the l96a1 for city maps now, even though i may go sniping with no intent on shooting pilots, ill take the m95 i like the gun so much most of my buddies say it suxbut i think whoever designed it rox.

Don't go with an Infra-Red mouse, in my opinion, I've done it and It's not a nice feeling when you're about to get raped by a nice tank aiming at your balls, and you cant move out of the way.

Depends on your mouse mat. I still use an old skool MX300 for sniping because of the ultra sensitive leftmouse button. Its completely broken in for smooth firing and I only use it for BF2 now :) My default MX Laser is too bulky imo. If you wanna maximize the performance of an infra red you should allways by a specialized mouse mat.

Ahh true, shame I've always used the same mouse mat, it needs changing after 5 years I think :|

i'm running with a smaller mouse, infa-red and it works fine, even with no mouse mat, it's a bit sensitive and i can't fly a helicopter with it, but it serves it's purpose...

This is a bit splitting hairs but those are not infared mices. Those mices use plane visible red light to operate. Light source can be either LED ar laser diode. For example remote controllers and such use infrared. You can't see IR but that bright light under belly of your mouses, you can see it perfectly well.

Normal human can see wavelenghts from 400nm to 700nm. IR is electromagnetic radiation at wave lengths roughly from 750nm to 1mm. Most of the LEDs can produce both visible and IR light, but they are designed to produce certain colour of visible light as much as possible. LEDs produce IR also but there is no use for that in a mouse...or...damn... am I missing the point? Did you fellows mean those ancient wireless mices where data transfer was carried out by IR? No no, no you can't. Nobody uses those anymore.

There was a test some time ago, where some fellow tested all the gaming mouses. If I remember correctly. Tuned MX510 was the best tolerating rapid accelerations. Also MX518 and Razor were good ones. All laser mices failed when compared to good LED mices for some reason.

but seriously I think ball mouse is the way to go it never failed me at long ranges as you can see in my video.

btw does higher graphics make more pixels which makes sniping easier at long ranges because there are more pixels on the target head?

As far as Gpix go, when sniping a high geometry setting seems to help me. As well as high effects setting (you can see the muzzle flash even when you can't see them) and low lighting setting (almost like a cheat).

Bug when the forums crashed. This was the only thread/post that could be seen in the mainforum. Somehow the views were also corrupted.

so on high settings at ranges like....250-300m i can see the flash?

some guy in my quad one time told me to try and shoot when no one is looking and ONLY head shots.

Sometimes ill go play bfvietnam just because there is no arty or scan
