Okay. What is up with claymores?? Whenever I see one near an open door or something i turn around. but it still goes off. Ive had snipers then claymores at me standing still, turned around, started to run away and they have gone off. At Karkland I was going to the west side long route to the suburbs, i seen a claymore at least 15 feet away, so i backed away, and it blew up. What do i do!!!! its driving me insane. Is there something to do to avoid them, does it help to jump over them?? ahhh... im getting mad just thinking about it.

Re: Claymore help!!!
he is implying that the claymore whores are at karkand. obviously the range is the same everywhere. (maybe not, you never know with EA and Dice).
Anyways, there really isnt a whole lot you can do. the best thing is to be careful and travel in a squad with a medic.

Re: Claymore help!!!
no, its just that most people on IO karkand just dash clays anywhere. hes saying if you went on another map, they're not so commonly found.
i know what you mean though. ive crawled round a wall before, layed there for like 5 seconds, then turned and seen a claymore which had been pointing at me all the while. and it only ever seems to go off when you try to get away from it

about how far away can i be from a claymore before i have to worry about it?

Re: Claymore help!!!
ive never actually paid attention to the exact distance. i either crawl away or summon up the will power to wait til it disappears (assuming i killed the sniper who threw it)

Re: Claymore help!!!
I swear.. I can see a claymore, and then purposely stay way back.. but still die..
Whenever that **** happens I just think "I guess I was 50 ****ing feet too close to that claymore".. lol

It's true. If it sees you looking at it, then it will kill you. If you never see it, then you can run right passed it.Originally posted by vesuvanThe key is to not make eye contact with the claymore.
normally clays are set of by:
3 - 4 meters

Re: Claymore help!!!
the title threw me off, i thought u meant USING clays, because that would have been an oxy-moron LOL.
yeah clays suck ***. like everybody on karkand sometimes become sniper, and they are so easy to kill, but the challenge is GETTING to them. There is nothing u can do but play other city maps if u like em, like sharqi and jalabad. I would seriously lead a GINOURMOUS group of protesters that REFUSE to use CLAYMORES, spreading the word. Might take months, but i think its possible to rid the bf2 streets of deadly clays!!!!!!!!

Re: Claymore help!!!
The only thing to do is, If you are an engineer, use your wrench on them. I have played rounds on karkand where claymores seem to be everywhere so I respawned as an engineer and spent most of the round removeing the things. All you have to do is crawl up to it and when in range use the wrench on it.
The things that I know set it off are first trying to get away from it. As long as you dont move away from it it wont explode. Second trying to remove the claymore and a noob comes up behind you and runs past you. The clay will go off and kill you both. Thats the two worst ones.
On the other side of that if you are taking one down and are in the middle of useing your wrench and an enemy starts shooting at you, just switch to your main weapon and return fire. You can do this and not get killed by the claymore. When, if the enemy gets killed or stops shooting you can use the wrench again. The claymore wont go off as long as you dont move away from it.
I always like to think of different things to do and I have seen claymores and stayed away from them. Then saw some enemy troops get within range of the claymore and get in a fire fight. So I ran up to the claymore and caused it to go off. Of course it kiled me (plus 2 points for the sniper) and the 3 enemy troops (minus 6 points for the sniper, thats a total score of minus 4 points). Thats a trick from my bag of dirty tricks. If the server has an auto boot after 3 team Kills, you have also removed the sniper from the server. I hope this helps. . . . . . . . . .Red
