i have seen posts about rank and that it matters or doesnt matter this is what i think. Rank to me matters only when applying for Commander, and unlocks. Other then that it really doesnt mean anything, to me anyways this is why. I use to play Delta Force BlackHawk Down and i was a Major General there, which it took me like 3 weeks to make lol tons easier then BF2, but people always said well of course your good you are a MG. Not true, i have skill thats all, but as soon as i made a new guy at PVT i was accused of cheating because of my rank, and the fact that i played well. Rank has nothing to do with skill, you get rank no matter what as long as you are getting points you are ranking but obviously by the time you make 1st SGT or General you are going to be good, you have billions of hours put in lol, and you are well known with the game and controls. But if you have played similar games and understand the game at a faster rate then others then rank doesnt matter, because you already have skills from prior games that are similar to BF2 or other games. Just dont make a new guy because you will get called a cheater lol. That is my thoughts on rank.

After 1250 hours...100+ hours in most vehicles..100+ in most kits
I can honestly say I earned my rank and the skill that I developed along with it.
Im not saying Im god, but Im saying I earned every point legit, every badge legit, every second learnign to fly or gun legit...well I cheated for my 20 repairs Seriously...take a look..I whored nothing nor supply/heal/revived whored..I busted my ***!

So yeah my rank..it matters to me...I busted my a$$ for quite a long time learning almost every map every kit and every vehicle.

Now am i bashing anyone with a low rank..no..but ive had far more challenges with higher ranking people against me. And when I team up with the higher rank guys It seems like my game skyrockets...like we have an unsaid mental telepathy knowing whats gonna happen which kit we should be etc,,

slight example..
I entered a server today..evryone and I mean everyone had some form of broze, silver, star, eagle etc.. and it was complete and utter sweaty brow looking over my shoulder hardcore action.
Next server I enter all lower guys, pre-50k..some pre-10k..
it was a cake walk..they litterally walked into my bullets, allowed me to camp the same spot..I had a tank..they had shock paddles (WTF?)

In my opinion rank should be calculated on time played, thats were skill developes. I could have played medic from day one of this games launch and problably been a 4 star, but I didnt. I spent countless (Pre-IO) hours developing CQC with all classes, then i moved to (as Im still doing at this point) Air maps were Ive been developing my Heli/Plane skills.
So if you wanna catch me screwing around..check karkand...
If you wanna catch me in my current "training form" you can catch me on an air map tryign to get my 100 hours in a heli and 100 hours as Medic.

On a side note...I have no clan, no friends to play with, nor do I even own a mic...if i did any of the above Im sure my game would have skyrocketed.

I just came from a server with similar situation...and let me tell you.

Two rounds, both gold, ground pounding in a tank whore infested server.
