omg that is lame. our clan has his own server :) so modife it for punkbusted is no problem.

Yeah we will keep on the host on adding the pb streaming files or we will switch gsp. Cause if we cant protect our server from hackers then why pay for a server that wont support streaming of punkbusted.

isnt that because some random admin could ban a guy from all servers, whilst punkbuster will ban from all servers if it detects a cheat ?

Its mainly to keep people from access the pb files. One could change the files for their benefit for hacks and stuff i would imagine. HKS would know more about this since he is the server guru.

Its not our hosts fault. We can't blame him for abiding with his contract which states No FTP access at all to any ranked server. The servers that are streaming, some hosts have set it up for them but the majority have ignored this rule and either given FTP access to the PB folder or some form of write access via a Web control panel.

I have been onto DICE about this and they won't budge and change the rules. They claim a host can setup a mirror of the PB folder but that is useless as its read only. Without write access you rely on your host to not only setup the server to be streaming but also to maintain it with daily updates which can be a lot of work for a host to do on a small margin.

So I don't blame any host that abides by these rules however it does mean that only 599 out of 3000+ servers are streaming.

DICE are so worried about keeping the ranking code secure yet how ironic is that, that they don't seem to care if the stats are compromised by a cheater which makes them worthless anyway.

So you can blame DICE that make it too difficult for all servers to be streaming to PsB. That is what they should have forced and added to the ROE not the opposite.

You are the 2nd server owner (regarding posts that I have read) who's belief is that Dice doesn't care about cheaters. Cheaters are becoming more and more predominate in this game. I hate to see this become CS/CS:S.
