No, but as clan leader for [PTG] i have the clan's reputation to look after. And as a human being i have a choice to make. I could just chuck him out the clan without talking things over with him in an adult manner, or i could not get a rush of blood to the head and gather all the facts before passing sentence.

As it now stands, this could be a misjudgement on Ghost's english skills with regards to his initial post.

He came here asking for help and advice as to what the pb message meant. Everyone read it as it was his guid that was banned and he was using the usual excuse you see. This is not the case.

Both ghost and his dad have their own copies of BF2. Ghost's copy is intact as he was playing on pb servers all day today with some of my members.

It is his dad's guid and copy of BF2 that has been banned by PB.

What i need to do now is verify this to be the case by having ghost join our server so i can cross check the guid's for now and yesterday when he was on. If they match, then the above explanation would have a more solid truth to it. Would you not agree?

You can get bannend even with out cheats

          same as mine friend:

Note #2: In this particular case, the violations were for a hack that modified the game memory when it was run. It attempted to bypass PB scans, and we created a whole new method to detect it doing it's work. That is what was triggererd, multiple times. Since our packets are encrypted, a network virus would render it a useless packet, and we don't ban on a negative. Whatever did this modified a specific part of the game memory, I can't see any other program BUT a hack doing that. I do not rule out a false positive, but this would be a different false than normal. Most false are some other program that has code or file that trigger our hack detections. This, if false at all, would have to be caused by faulty memory, or hardware (mobo corrupting memory for example). But then it would have to corrupt the same part of the game repeatedly... which is very unlikely. The only way to prove this is to reproduce the kick.

im no programmer. but if you do a "tweak" that has to bypass PB, is that not what pb is there to prevent?

Wow, all you dumb retards who cheered about "yet another haxor banned" have just been burned and castrated. Internet stupidity, 4 full pages of it, in fact.

Quoting- "Go retards go retards go"

Ghost, I hope your dad gets this sorted, probably a mistake of somesort.

Ofcourse I agree and understand your concern about the reputation of the clan.
My post did'nt judge anyone and I think it's a shame if he got faulty PunkBusted.

My question was just what I wrote. No undertones here :-)

Have your dad go to Evenbalance.com and submit a trouble ticket. If he is innocent they will sort it out and the Ban will be lifted.

If he is guilty then a ban is what he deserves. Make sure you dont play on his puter because PB will detect the cheat and you'll get a GUID ban also.

I have seen a GUID ban over turned but it is very unusual. Most of the time PB gets it right.

                      Edited to add.

                      Did some research

Seems you use your fathers hash also

                      1 Battlefield 2 (partial guid) 77319484 kalibar (hidden) 2006/07/08 11:57:45 to

                      5 Battlefield 2 (partial guid) 77319484 |Gh0st|r3con| (hidden) 2006/06/20 09:57:37 to
                      2006/07/07 09:13:46

See the dates. You used your "fathers" hash on 2006/07/07 09:13:46

Well, I can tell u that PB does screw up alot. Go over to evenbalance and check the posts. But I do think when you get a Global Ban on ur GUID it's a bad thing.

A few months ago PB kicked me off...said 'Hardware BAN!' and I went over there and complained to evenbalance and they restored my account. I told them I didn't know what the hell was going on...told them my system spec's (SLI, RAID 0+1) and told them I was using Game Drive and they restored my account and appologized.

I even sent them my system specs on 3Dmark06 and told them to look and see if there was something there that was causing the problem.

                                Sometimes PB does make mistakes....
