The ROE is the same for both. They are merely only reporting agencies.

Ya beat me too it. They make an absolute mockery of the ROE, do whatever they please and they haven't been shut down.

The ROE is what it is. We have used BF2RS for reporting for quite a while, and we cleared our server rules through our host and BF2RS while asking the same kind of questions that have been brought up here. We were told that the intent of this rule was to prevent clan servers from allowing only clan members to use the prime equipment and prevent all others from doing so on their servers, and any other abuses similar to this. The intent of our rule is actually to allow more players the opportunity to use the equipment, by asking those who would hog it to share. We do not totally disallow it for any player; not Colony, not noobs. We simply ask them to share time in the equipment with others on their team. We extend this rule even to admins; I personally kicked one that decided he needed his flying points and ignored it. He was a little pissed...and he is no longer with us.

We believe that EA and Dice understand there are two paradigms to playing BF2...or any military game: there is the military paradigm where you want to have every player be a Colony, and the game paradigm where you want everyone on the server to have fun and come back. We know that our rules do not fit both paradigms as they are, for the most part, mutually exclusive. Some will find our rules stupid, yet many have come to our servers because of them. This is why God made 1000s of BF2 servers, so everyone can find the ones that best suit their gameplay.

even though i was wrong about how many times i am allowed to fly jets on the moongamer server, it is still agasint both BF2RS ROE and BFROE, which by the looks of it are the same exact rules. i just think all the MoonGamer admins should be given a warning about it. i'm not trying to start something here. i'm just tired of admins enforcing their own rules that do not comply with the bfroe, which everyone is suppose to follow.

The Admins at MoonGamers are not enforcing their own rules. They enforce the rules that the owners of MoonGamers have set down, to ensure a fun game for all.

By all accounts, you were in a plane three rounds in a row and if you still ran into a crane, you needed a break. Cranes don't move, so it's not that tough to avoid them. I've been on servers you'd have been kicked for doing that on. You'd have gotten the message "This isn't a training server, come back when you learn to fly."

Believe me, MoonGamers is a better place for the average gamer, because of the rules you are complaining about. For those that don't agree with the rules, feel free to rent your own server and apply your rule set according to what you want in a game. People will still complain, because you can't make everyone happy. In the case of someone like YoDiddy, their rules are in place because of players like him. Naturally he won't like them...

                          From who? Admin maybe?

I don't know about MG, but admined server is much more comfortable to play on, even if they abuse or force something against roe. Just behave and be nice to them, and you'll have happy playing all night long with them.

It's funny how it's always admin that's the evil. I should get a reset because I promised to an admin not to kill him. We were both jets and kept just killing and chasing each other pointlessly for rounds. It was not funny at all since he was good and finally he kicked me. I deserved that for intentionally teasing him. I apologized and joined his team and we both had fun for the rest of the night.

Re: question about a possible BFROE server violation

I'm not a fan of over admined servers.

To be totally honest here, I find it more relaxing and fun to play on "no rules" servers than server that have active admins. For example. There is a server called 24/7 Infantry Only Karkand Madness!! [FF OFF]. Its a 64 player server. Its message streaming across it in game basically says "there are no rules, everything is allowed, even C4 jumping". OK, so, I play on that server quite a bit, and never ever see any issues. The server does have admins, all servers have admins, but there's never any issues. To the contrary, I play on a server called DK Broken Arrow and the DK clan guys banned my buddy for base raping when he was sitting at the first base flag next to the bridge killing anything that crossed the bridge. They had no flags, but the admins banned him anyway, saying he was base raping. They had earlier banned some other guy. This server barley had 9 players in it.

That's just a basic example of what I see. "No Rules" servers tend to go smoother, in my opinion, then servers that have lots of rules to abide by. Also, I have been an admin on a 64 player server, that had a "no base raping" rule. Let me tell you, its a freakin' chore enforcing that rule. I found myself banning several players per match. I don't wanna have to always be doing that. I want to play the game. Its a game, not a job.

So, that being said, I tend to avoid over admined servers, and servers with lots of rules. The fewer the rules, the more fun it is. The game has built in rules to deal with TKers. Its the artificial rules that are the annoying ones. The "no base raping", "no whoring vehicles", "no jihad jeeps" artificial rules that annoy me.

Re: question about a possible BFROE server violation

Thanks Scinto for cleaning it up and re-opening it. Now hopefully we can have a civil discussion.

I don't see any problem. In fact that rule I believe doesn't break the "essence" of the ROE because all they are merely doing is allowing others to have a turn. Everyone has equal rights to any vehicles in the game. If your not decent enough to share those vehicles (I guess your parents never taught you how to share), then consider MG admins like parents teaching the kiddies how to share.

2 full rounds flying in a jet is fair then you should give someone else a go. Then 2 rounds later you can fly for another 2 rounds under their rule. Its not a rule we would have merely because of the admining involved but I like the essence of this rule and what they are trying to achieve. Its the same for everyone so I can't see what the problem is?

A player that constantly whores a vehicle, round after round is in effect restricting other players from using that vehicle. That is against the ROE. A player that has flown 3 rounds in a row and crashes into a crane, it could be argued that you were hindering your own team by crashing into an immovable object.

So all they are trying to do is teach the kiddies (vehicle whores) how to share just like your mum and dad should have. Again if that rule is not to your liking you can play elsewhere, but why bother to make such a big deal about it?

I'm not saying whether I agree with it or not, but the fact remains...
