i figured this would be the best place to ask, if not please move it to another location.
i was jsut playing on MoonGamers BF2 Mostly Oman ip address: 64.34.181.14:16567 . i was flying an f35 and then i crashed because i couldnt avoid the crane. i spawn on the ship again and the admin tells me to take a break from flying. i flew the jet a few times since the round started. i ask why and he says they have a server rule of 2 flights per person per jet or copter. i was just wondering if this could be considered a violation of the BFROE. i looked and i didnt see anything about the amount of time i can fly but there is this

would limiting my usage of the jet to 2 times per round be a violation?

That is actually pretty reasonable, I don't think its a violation.

I was kicked from moon gamers lastnight on karkand as USMC for attacking an uncap, the base I was at and had been at the entire time was hotel.

I'm just not going back anymore.

I usually will only fly if the air craft is there and no one else is useing it. The reason I do this is to keep it from being stolen by the enemy. I am really good at piloting air craft but I am also an easy kill. Thats why I usually dont fly, ingame.

Since this seems to be a violation of the ROE, the admin might need to be warned about this. They might have other ideas about the Roe, I dont know. All I can suggest is, that with this being a popular server and usually being well run, it makes sense that a warning, on this matter, is in order. It just might turn out that the 2 flight rule is an oversight on thier part and not ment to unfairly alter the game play during a round. Well thats my 2 cents worth anyway. . . . . . . . .Red

No its not reasonable. Its a Violation of ROE. An Admin can not limit the use of a vehicle period.

No admin can ever stop you from using a vehicle, that is against the ROE (pretty much the same as knife/pistol servers). So anything regarding taking turns or having a line for vehicles is an offense. The people in ROX gaming love to kick you to "make room for an admin" when you rape their jet spawn :)

a lot of servers limit jet or plane usage by implementing a "waiting in line" rule. my favorite is that only clan members can fly, for example DA.

Moongamers have been doing this from day 1 to allow everyone a fair go. Nothing will happen to them. They have been through all this before with colony. It didn't change then and won't change now.

I'm an admin on Moongamers Oman. Let me clarify something:

It's not 2 times per round. That's silly! :) It's 2 rounds on, 2 rounds off. The reason for this is that we prefer you not whore a vehicle or the commander position. It's part of our philosophy of sharing and making the game enjoyable for everyone from the private on up. You were not deprived of the jet at all, we merely wanted you to let someone else have a chance at it. Now, I wasn't there when you were asked to take a break from flying but I know from experience that certain players will whore a jet or chopper thus depriving someone else from the pleasure of using it. Jets are one of the primary reasons people come to our server. A lot of players know exactly where to stand to get the jets, or they are so good they stay in the jet all round. A newer player may not know these tricks so if another player keeps getting in the jet round after round we don't feel that is exactly fair to all. I hope you can appreciate this and understand we don't do it for our own selfishness. Quite the opposite actually.

Here's the rule:

Vehicle Whoring:
This means that if you like one piece of equipment and one piece of equipment alone and are unwilling to share, this is not the server for you. Staying in vehicles pretty much continuously round after round deprives other players of the use of the vehicle and of the enjoyment of the server to its fullest. Learn to share or take a hike. This means that you are allowed AT THE MOST 2 rounds on and 2 off. ALL VEHICLES are subject to this rule and any and all cases that come to an admin's attention through observation or a complaint from other players will be continually monitored.

We have had our rules in place since the game came out so I'm not sure if we're in violation of any ROE. You would think after 18 months we'd have had to change them if we were.

I'm sorry if you feel cheated somehow. You weren't kicked, you were simply asked to not fly for a while. We believe in sharing, that's all. If you see me in game feel free to ask me anythng, or better yet, come into our teamspeak server and talk.

Our Oman server is one of the more popular servers in all of BF2, and we feel our rules are a big reason for that.

Like motorboatjones, I am also an admin at moongamers. We engineer our rules to give the best possible gaming experience for everyone not just people who may be more skilled or have better hardware than others. Thus comes our set of rules. We try to be fair to everyone.

As motor said the rule is 2 rounds on and 2 rounds off, not 2 jets in a round. That kind of rule would be absurd as well as a pain to enforce.

Secondly, our rules abide by the BF2 Ranked Servers program not BF2ROE and thus our rules are entirely legitimate.

nooo!!!! moongamers has the only 24/7 kark server that isnt IO and has FF that people actually play in(yeah i still play kark). but anyways, is that really that big of a deal to you that you feel the need to report them? if there was nobody else there to use it then i understand it, but im sure a little pleading with an admin would do the trick.

I'm glad you enjoy the server. I used to call that home until I started playing SF. It's definately a great server.

BTW there is nothing to report since we abide by the BF2 Ranked Servers program and not BF2ROE.
