Re: question about a possible BFROE server violation

the downside to having so many rules on a server is that anyone can start complaining that joeblow is doing something against server rules and get them kicked, which 99% of the time they are innocent victims. I too have been a victim of this.

That is an excellent point, and it is for that very reason that our admins are asked to visualize infractions for themselves before kicking. They will not kick on the word of any player for the very reason you just mentioned. We also get complaints of admins "not doing their jobs" (what, they get paid??) because visualizing means they cannot be everywhere at once.

        Agreed.
I get it all the time "admin, admin, little johnny is doing this, little johnny is doing that" so I have to stop my game to see what it is johnny is really doing which is normally not a lot.
Its all part and parcel of being a server admin i'm afraid. If you take on the role of admin, you have to do it properly, and that means letting things go sometimes to keep the game going, a bit like a referee does in any other game. If THEY stuck rigidly to the rules of whatever game, pretty soon there wouldn't be any players left on the pitch!
We have no uncap raping (like it or not) and we also ask people not to swear, but we DON'T have autokick because we like the human touch. Every now and then we get idiots on the server, but then who doesn't? The idiots don't last long leaving the rest of us to have a good game, maybe with the odd bit of swearing if its in context (and its been missed by the human touch lol)

im being made to look like a bad guy here and moongamer admins are not the badguy either, nobody is except the people critizing me... the only reason i even said anything about this is, because there were only about 3 people who wanted to fly jets. some guy and i were actually flying the jets to help the team. the third guy as far as i could tell was jsut taking the jet to take it, he wasnt dog fighting or anything like i was. i think he also went after the enemy jets at least once. the only other people flying were the cobra pilot and gunner, the same 2 people. the admin was prone somewhere on the ship nowhere near the jets. everyone else was on land taking flags. i jsut dont like being told i cant use something when hardly anyone is using them. i saw the second jet on the carrier 3-4 times when refilling my ammo, just sitting there not being used. hell, the reason i crashed was because i was trying to avoid being killed by the enemy mig, because i had no support from the other pilot. no missiles and no after burner really sucks.

I invite you all to join moongamers in teamspeak and play on all of their servers, get to know the players and Admins and you will find yourself coming back again and again. Admins do not use the rules for their own benefit, as any past abusive Admins have had their rights taken away.

Then by your reasoning, players who whore vehicles are violating the ROE as they are preventing other players from using the vehicles... So they should be kicked... Thanks for proving my point.

If the plane is never there, because you keep taking it, then players don't expect it to be there or stand around all game waiting for it. Neither of these is fair to the team. The rule of two rounds on and two rounds off may seem unfair to you when you see the planes just sitting there, after the Admin has told you to stay out for two rounds. The thing is, the rest of the team got tired of waiting for a plane and went to do something else, because you always had it. It's gonna take a while for the team to catch on to the fact that you aren't in it any more and most team players would message their team, to keep them informed. I'm willing to bet that had you not been told to stay out of planes after three rounds, you'd have stayed in there until you decided to leave or until someone else TKed you to get the plane. Then you'd have screamed for them to get kicked for that, when they were just frustrated with you whoring the aircraft.

When there aren't many players on servers, rules are usually somewhat relaxed, to keep the players that are there playing. Hopefully, others will join and at that point the rules have to be enforced fully again. This can cause confusion to newer players, as they assume the relaxed rules to be the norm. TeamSpeak can take care of this situation, as the Admin will tell you exactly what is going on and explain why. Also, many servers have forums where you can go to state your case, should you be kicked or banned. MoonGamers has an unban section for requesting an unban, so had you been banned, that should have been your first move. Since you were kicked, going into TeamSpeak to talk to the Admin or coming to MoonGamers forums to discuss it would make sense.

Coming here and complaining is sort of like going to the police to complain, when a teacher makes you get off the swing, so another classmate can have a turn at it. Except these people aren't the police and if they want to keep their credibility, they need to be sure the problem is real abuse and not simply managing the game. In your case, you've admitted you were whoring the vehicle and by doing so, being unfair to your fellow players. Seems a simple case of managing the game to me.

Here's a simple example you should understand: If the traffic light is red, do you drive through it because there is no traffic, or do you follow the letter of the law and wait for it to change? If you break laws when they inconvenience you, then I have some bad news for you. Your life is gonna start sucking big time, because eventually you'll get caught and have to pay the price. No matter what you may think, the world is not here for your personal gratification and there are rules. Get used to it or get ready to be disappointed...

                  By MY reasoning?
When exactly, was it by MY reasoning klaarg?
                  It is breaking RoE.
I said nothing about whether or not I agreed with it, I just stated a FACT

And Dezhern, I wasn't flaming you OR your server. I was just saying that its hard enough to admin without those feckwits grassing each other up all the time .

Actually I DO agree with that rule, I think it makes for a fairer game, but as you said, people can always vote with their feet (or mouse).

Come and try out the Moongamers Special Forces Server, this server has limited rules like no glitching, racism and whoring and thats it. It always a lot of fun there.

ROE is the Bill of rights to commander,armor,j-10, and helicopter whores.

IMO ROE ruined Bf2 like MTV ruined music

I play on tons of servers but I have to say that moongamers is the best. They alway try and promote fair gameplay. The only thing I don't agree with is they put up with too much crap from people who get banned on their servers. If someone gets banned their servers then all they need to do to get back on is just apologize for their actions. I personally think they should be banned longer, but oh well no server is perfect. Well I guess it ain't that bad as I hear half of their Admins have been banned or kicked at one time prior to being Admins. I like their 2142 servers, everyone always gets along there and its cool to watch Timsad in action. He is always gutting the enemy team with his knife. I also enjoy playing on the Armory server. Moncur, Gator and Phrogg run a tight ship and they are always awesome to have by your side.

ok now look, this is the second time you have miss interpreted what i have said and spun it into your own little personal crusade against me or what have you. im going to explain my feeling on this matter one final time and hopfully this time you will understand it correctly.

i wasnt banned or kicked from the moongamer server by any admin. i left by my own will. opening a thread on the moongamer forum would have been useless as some of the admins for the server have stated their view on this matter. i came here to ask if what i thought was said to me or what really was said, is agasint the bfroe (which it is no matter how you cut it), because i know that bfroe admins cruise this forum.

when i play battlefield 2 on ranked server, i play by the rules set by the server admins that comply with the bfroe (the bf2rs roe is the same set of rules as bfroe). simple. i try to stay out of trouble as much as i can. i say sorry to everyone i tk. i rarely punish people who have tk'ed me unless they absolutly deserve it. i usually put a limit on my self to how many time i take team equipment when i am not helping the team. i dont fight or tk to get team equipment. i try to keep myself out of trouble as best i can when i play, because i play to have fun.

im not gona argue with you anymore, because you bring nothing to this thread worth arguing over. it seems like all you are trying to do is make me look bad. possibly to tarnish whatever good reputation or respectability i may have with the people on this forum(if any at all). im done talking about this, because none of it matters anymore. so if you feel the need to criticize me for something that doesnt even matter anymore, go ahead, but all it does is make you look bad.

Third Eye, I recommend you try and play on the server again but getting into TS is probably the most fun about Moongamers. Once you get to know the rules and especially the Admins then I'm sure you'll have a blast there. Well we hope to see you there. :) Check it out bro.

I never knew people could be so childish about stuff like this but its amazing how far they will go. Even to defend their lame ways.

Whoever get to the vehicle first should have it, he will die eventually its a given then its time for someone else to be quick or he'll get it again... but WHO CARES its not like there isnt any other weapons except vehicles.
