Thats one of those things really. I know that its bad to swear and completely STUPID to press a key to type in a simple swearing word, or to flame someone in the game. However, by knowing and admitting its stupid, Im contradicting myself, as I swear in a game on regular basis. Nothing insulting. But I do love English hot expressions.

"Holy SH!T!" Is one of my favourite. :)

You DO know that some people have kids that watch these games with them. Plus, swearing is a rude thing to do, it could damage people with mental problems or low-tempered people. Some people actually in real-life find the person who was annoying or teasing them and kill or injure them. I do not advise to swear.

if your exposing kids to blowing other people's brains out, how could you be worried about learning bad language?

The violence contained in BF2 is pretty toned down.

Besides, language is easily imitatible, violence, not as much so.

The difference is kids know its just a game and don't take it seriously, unlike some so-called adults. Plus parents would explain you don't do it for real, its not real and again merely only a game and is just for fun.

My son now just turned 5 has been playing BF2 since it came out and before then played BFV. I don't have any probs with him playing these games because there's no blood its not really violent and again he knows its only a game. The GTA series is way more violent than the BF series.

Regardless of your opinion, you should still respect the wishes of others who may not want their children exposed to foul language.

I'm sure when/if you have children, your view on such matters will change :).

People should really learn to respect the opinions, thoughts, and wishes of others :hmm:.

i would respect that wish if it made sense.....thats like me saying you should respect my wish to lock my child in a plastic bubble so he may never be exposed to anything that may possibly be considered potentially somewhat 'offensive' by some random sensative twat.....

when i have a child, i will not care what words s/he hears....i realise words are just words, they are inherently empty of any intrinsic value, and cannot cause harm, corruption, or death.......my child will not be a sheltered pussbag fagggdouche who cries and takes offense over.......WORDS

im shocked the rest of the world hasnt caught on to this basic common sense realisation that words are words, and only carry whatever weight we put into it......lets not turn into pissy little b!tches who get all bent and offended when we see or hear a word.....

'curse word' is only valid in southpark colorado.....the human psyche must be able to endure a word here and there if it is going to last in this chaotic, cold, heartless, and cruel society

Words are the greatest form of communication we have.

The ability to communicate so easily is what sets up apart from the other mammals.

Regardless of your opinion, you should still repect the wishes of others on how they want to raise their children.

i really didnt expect this much controversy...

i dont even know what to say anymore.....but ive got an idea!! teach all kids about urbandictionary.com! see a word you dont know? type it in! definitions and explanations right there! i would think that a lot of kids would be able to get the gist(sp?)

and why the hell is GTA being compared to bf2? GTA is like 30 times worse than BF2, and theres nobody to get kicked for swearing, what do ya know?

Jesus Christ, you people think I am swearing out 12 year olds all the time. I will say it again: I RARELY swear and I RARELY chat ingame. When I do, its either: A) REsponding to a question, or B) Saying "nice shot" or something to that effect (Uncommon these days...).

And Alpha does have a good point...
