I do apologize if this has been posted before. Its a semi-short interview with a cheater from Halo 2, who also plays Battlefield 2 and Counter-strike. Its a good read, so I suggest taking a few minutes to look over it.

I don't think Cheating/modding/hacking is that big of a deal. Before I got BF2 I played F.E.A.R. Now Fear has atleast 1 hacker for every 3 non-hackers, and My computer (the one I'm on right now) couldn't handle Fear so I had to play it on my family computer where I had restricted rights, and PB didn't like that so it refused to put me on PB servers. So in turn I ended up playing non-PB servers and with ALOT of hackers, some who could literally fly, and some who could kill you in oneshot with a pistol from like 9875950 feet away etc. I personally love playing with hackers, it makes things interesting and makes the game that much more of a challenge. I always try and improve if I ever encounter a hacker, that, to me, seems to make more sense then pissing and moaning about it, which does nothing, they just think it's hillarious. Not all of them are evil and insane gamer terrorists, some of them are actually really cool/nice people who just happen to like having an un-fair advantage. Personally I don't agree with any of those comments on that site, he just seems bored is all, I mean it ins't like he's trying to ruin everyone elses gaming expierence it isn't his intentions he's just trying to make his more interesting. Which you can't blame him I mean hundreds of thousands of people use mods for online games, not to cheat but they just want a more interesintg game is all, he just happens to go about it the wrong way.

I think people over-react, if you're really bothered by a hacker...switch servers there are literally thousands of them and I doubt there are many hackers on BF2, atleast compared to other games.

If you don't find a game interesting then don't play the game. Don't ruin it for everyone else. "He's just doing it cause he is bored" is the lamest most pathetic excuse I have ever heard.

That's the stupidest post ever. Cheaters are cheaters, dirty rotten scoundrels plain and simple. I'm not going to understand them, I'm not going to tolerate them, I'm gonna kick and ban them.

Schmuck5000: I play BF2 and some Counter Strike. I cheat at both but it’s hard to get away with in Counter Strike. People who play CS are such babies about that stuff. The other players are just jealous p***ys who wish they had the ability to cheat.

Cheaters rely on the casual player's apathy to keep their conscience clear.

They also tend to refer to 'everybody else cheating, so I do it to even things out.' Yet they do absolutely nothing to break the cycle itself. Ignorant losers.

What makes me angry is when they finally say, "it's just a game."

What they fail to realize is that what they do is a big deal; playing the game unfairly removes any fair chance for the other person to win. This detracts from the fun that person has with that game. This makes it a very big deal for that person. I would not be a happy gamer if I were that unlucky person to be victimized by a cheater.

Unfortunately, there is very little that a gaming company can do against cheaters, since the cheaters had paid their money to buy the product...

In my mind, the best thing that they could do is to publically humiliate people who have been caught cheating. It may not provide much in prevention; but it does provide the community a profound sense of satisfaction to see a notorious hacker get crucified for their indescretions.

Cheaters really don't have a leg to stand on. They should never be tolerated, and their weak arguments should be exposed for what they are... cheap excuses meant to distract so they can keep on cheating, which they know is wrong.

Mods are fine if used in an unranked arena with like minded individuals...spoiling peoples gaming experience isn't fine however.

I would say the vast majority play BF2 for enjoyment (working towards ranks and badges is included in this) and have paid money to do so. People that hack have an unfair advantage and are therefore effecting peoples gameplay and enjoyment.

I, like most people, would find something else to do if i found some thing boring. I find shopping boring but i wouldn't go around robbing people in a vain attempt to spice it up!!!

I have a handful of servers play on as i enjoy the rules and know a lot of the players on them. Why should i change servers because someone with too much time on their hands with a PC bought by Mummy and Daddy (probably to keep them quiet and out of the way!!) and incapable of playing the game as it was intended has decided to stray into my chosen server? I work, i paid for the PC and the game, as im sure a lot of the BF2 community have, and i take it personally when hackers spoil it for anyone including myself!!!

As for the hacker, what a freak, I hate hackers, what's the point in it?
