    Re: Interview With A Cheater

So what I'm gathering, is cheating is largely disliked because it's fun for them and not for everyone who's subject to the cheaters correct? Because they're taking away from your expierence and they have an un-fair advantage?

So I guess it's safe to assume everyone who implied anything close to the above would never dream of touching a J-10 on Wake right? And no one who implied anything to the above would ever grenade whore or ever allow themselves to totally own somone giving them a kickass k/d ratio? Because sure that'd be fun for you but not for the people on the USMC spawn point getting raped over and over again by the J-10's and not for the people obviously no where near your skill level who're just trying to learn and improve but they don't even get the chance because you're to busy trying to get first in the round.

(Note: Don't bother saying, "you can't compare hacking to things in the game" or something like that, you'd just make yourself look completely retarded because you would have missed the point completely.)

I mean sure you're not going and buying hacks or buying programs to use to manipulate the game, you're just manipulating the people who're less skilled than you, just so your score could be better, because it's fun for you.

And to the people who said "If they're going to ruin our fun why not ruin there's?" (or something of that nature) So what you're saying is since they're ruining people's fun, you should get to too? That sounds an awful lot like his excuse to hack, not to mention how insanely childish that is. But that's alright You have your opinions I have mine, I'm just not going to waste mine complaining about some guy who bought some random aimbot just because he isn't fortunate enough to be any good at the game, I'd much rather use him and his un-balanced gameplay to improve myself. It's much more satisfying to knife or difiberalate (spell?) a hacker than it is to cry about him having 102 kills and 5 deaths.

FYI: People who hack aren't losers people who hack in games are losers. Real hackers, hack to get information that should be public but isn't I. E. Classified goverment crap, but that's kinda more like "Phreaking" and that's a whole 'nother discussion.

Dude, you are, like, so *morally superior* to the rest of us, can I kiss your *** and the ground you walk on?

Cheating is never justified. Live with it. Picking up an AWP and ripping people apart STILL takes skill. Picking up a J10 still takes some skill, you need to be really adept at teamkilling the rest of the 31 player team waiting for it. The best way to do this is to become a commander and artillery the Airfield. The only reason I ever get in the J10 is to hop out and steal the F-35 on the US carrier.

I guess you're blind or something, beause 99% of servers have explicit rules against baserape.

The flaw in your argument is that you assume that the skilled players are having fun at the expense of the lesser skiller players. This is not the case, I suck at BF2 and and more often than not get pwnd but still have fun. The whole point of a sport is to test your skills against others within the rules. Losing just makes winning even better. Cheating, being outside the rules, destroys the game and makes being on the server pointless. The hacker's fun depends on others not having fun. He's just a vandal.

There an advantage, theres an unfair advantage and then theres cheating.

As far as Im concerned, advantage is using anything in the game to beat your fellow opponent. An unfair advantage would rely on peoples own interpretion of the game, but is again an advantage aquired inside the games borders. Cheating is playing outside game borders, limits. The cheater is not playing the same game anymore. If I would have a hack that would kill every living being in the server as soon as I push the X key, I wouldnt be playing BF2 anymore. Cheating, as a concept of walking outside the boundaries may be cool, but this is sports, and a constant PvP competition, and if you need an edge to win, if you cant play without winning, and need to cheat, you do not have a place in any of those servers.

So I guess it's safe to assume everyone who implied anything close to the above would never dream of touching a J-10 on Wake right? And no one who implied anything to the above would ever grenade whore or ever allow themselves to totally own somone giving them a kickass k/d ratio?
First of all, before I begin, check back my classifications on advantages.

J10 is an unfair advantage, its almost on the same level as exploiting because it is almost outside the games borders because its bugged. But its still in the game so everyones point of view on J10 is simply their opinion. Using J10 can be cheap for some, normal for others.

Nadespam can be avoided, this is just an advantage you gain by playing against morons. Nadespam in BF2 is bad, yes, but nadespam equals "camping" in various other games.

Because sure that'd be fun for you but not for the people on the USMC spawn point getting raped over and over again by the J-10's and not for the people obviously no where near your skill level who're just trying to learn and improve but they don't even get the chance because you're to busy trying to get first in the round.
This is not a rule, but an exception.

(Note: Don't bother saying, "you can't compare hacking to things in the game" or something like that, you'd just make yourself look completely retarded because you would have missed the point completely.)
You can. Hacking and an fair or unfair advantage are completely separate. Youre stupid to think otherwise.

I mean sure you're not going and buying hacks or buying programs to use to manipulate the game, you're just manipulating the people who're less skilled than you, just so your score could be better, because it's fun for you.
          Bingo.

            Re: Interview With A Cheater

I really wanted to respond to AudioAtomica's entire post in quoted fractions, but each of his points is randomized in sentences that are difficult to comprehend. It seems that the bulk of his point is, "You degenerate yourself to his level, to ruin his fun, because he ruined your fun. Hypocrite." so I will merely respond to that.

I will go ahead and say; Yeah. I'm a proud hypocrite in that sense.

As the basic principle of competition is fairplay, I will forever treat even my enemy of the time with respect on BF2. However, once somebody oversteps the boundaries of fairplay by using a third party to manipulate the mechanics of the game, I no longer keep my 'Mr. Nice' gameface on.

I won't use excuses to vindicate my reasoning.

I just refuse to be a victim.

I shouldn't have to take it up the fleshpipe because of political incorrectness or the fear of becoming a hypocrite due to my self-righteous stance against cheating. I shouldn't have to leave the server, simply because of one undesirable abusing the system.

Besides, after a round or two of me playing with unfair tactics against the undesirable; the cheater gives up and leaves to find another server to victimize. After that, I can go back to my regularly scheduled gaming as if nothing happened. Plus there is a profound sense of gratification knowing that I've done my part to discourage cheating. =)

Did you know that you can fight the spread of a forest fire, simply by starting another (Controlled) forest fire? Both tend to burn each other out. It's called fighting fire with fire. Thats what I do. I fight cheating by using (Controlled) unfair tactics. Ones that won't get me reported without exposing the cheater for what he is.

Anyhow.. the best way to fight cheating is to prevent it. We should all work together to squelch those who would go so far as to promote cheating based on the foolish ideals that it's all in good fun, and that what they do is harmless. It is not a victimless crime; and we shouldn't treat it as such. It is not within the boundaries of the game's mechanics; and we shouldn't treat it as such.

It is not something that we should ever accept.

I hope this is clear to everybody who has ever thought about paying $100+ for a BF2 hack.

First of all the J-10, nade spamming, owning sh*te your coming out with is written into the game, everyone has the opportunity to do it and most of all it ISN'T against the rules!!!

If you're going to go down that route then you may aswell add in spawn raping with the tanks/APC's on Karkand, 6 people from a clan on the same squad, a player who is a 1st lieutenant against a Lance Corporal etc etc.

People improve against other players...not other players with hacks!! I mean what can you learn from 20-30 UAV's floating around in the sky or artillery going off all the time?

But you won't do it. Why do I know this?? As like other game cheaters, you can only do it from behind the anonimity of a computer screen because the reality is YOU ARE A WORTHLESS LITTLE *****!!! Cheating in an online computer game somehow gives you the feeling of power that you can't get in the real world due to your lack of spine.

Yep, to bad for them it is not any REAL power that will get them anywhere in life. It is PERCIEVED power for them to get their jollies and make up for inadequecies in the real world.

Atomica has a very good point, even though cheating should never be accepted. I don't care if someone cheats, but if someone does nothing but baserapes all the time that really makes me go nuts. If I see a baseraper in Wake I will make sure he'll really feels what it's like to every single time join Chinese, take J-10 and go rape carrier. Until he leaves. And believe me, he does. So far it doesn't take cheats to ruin others game completely.

And please remember that cheating doesn't equal skill and it doesn't necessary make any difference in players score. As long as cheater isn't skilled and used to his cheats he can not win smart and good players. So far I've not seen a single cheater capable of scoring better than good honest players without using vehicles like jets. And even then it takes only two missiles to take him down.

i didnt feel like reading what everyone has posted, but i just wanted to add that in all the time i have played battlefield 2 i have encountered very few cheaters. that alone is one of the few reason i still play bf2. the only game i have almost completely stopped playing is CS and CSS. you just lose all trust in people who play those games. call of duty 2 and fear combat has filled the void cs once did.

And to who ever said that I said real hacking is noble....wtf are you talking about? I was pointing out that you're all crying (I'm refering to the people who ARE) about some punkass 11 year old who stole his mommies credit card to buy a $75 hack just so he could boost his self-esteem high enough to the point where he can finally play that game he's always been owned at, when all you have to do is kill him a few times and then he'll get pissed and leave. If you're any good at BF2 at all hackers and cheaters and glitchers shouldn't be a problem at all.

So to clarify my point, just incase any of you happen to be a little slower than others, Stop bitching about hackers and spamming the forums and atleast make an attempt to discourage hackers and better this community.
