I must agree, to me it's okay is some parts but overall, EA and DICE killed another part of the great and legendary series.

Yeah no doubt.

In 2142:
-Quicker, and more proper patches. (Better support)
-Better load times.
-People experience less long verifying client data problems.
-Netcode is better
-2142 has less deviation based guns. Where you point, bullets go.
-Fixed Prone-diving.
-Added sway to weapons.
-Added support for walking vehicles. (Not needed in vBF2 though)
-Air vehicles no longer dominate the game. Although many would disagree, this is good to me. It takes lots of fun out of the game for me in BF2.

Most peoples reasons to not like 2142 is simply because they released another game without even "fixing" 2142. You claim its just a BF2 mod (with MANY changes that would be impossible to do in a mod I must add aka hardcoded). Until you make an entire mod of your own, making changes that are hardcoded to BF2's, adding all 2142 weapons, features, textures, models, etc. Don't say its a mod. The even more sad part is you are too cheap to pay $50 for a game...

Then people got into the stupid AD/spyware thing.

That because the spyware story was bs of course, some idiots made it up. The game has advertising and to gain that per region it sends you IP with. Sorry to say, but every game, TS, MSN, P2P program sends your IP anyway. Second to that you can just block the in-game ads with your firewall (I do).

The spyware was non-sense and the ads aren't all that bad afterall and can be blocked.

The good thing of BF2142 is the better support, quick and proper patches means a lot to me. Though BF2 is just the better game, simple said.

VERY well said SaUrOn. and I must add, whats with the whining about in-game ads on billboards anyway? People act like it interferes with the gameplay. As if it minimizes your game and pops up an IE add. In my opinion, its a rather clever, realistic way to advertise and does not interfere with gameplay. Do you guys whine about billboards in real life? Stop finding stupid excuses to not like the game.

I have NO problem with not liking the game, until it comes to using these stupid excuses of not liking it. You might not like the concept, not like future games, might not like the newish gameplay, etc but at least those are REASONS, not excuses.

off the bat its hard to take anything you say seriously when you use the old "don't criticize unless you can do it" argument as it is most likely the most retarded fanboi argument ever used (and its used allot by people) it's utterly flawed and devoid of logic. using that point just makes people look stupid like a 11 year old child. I'm not saying you don't have points and I have not played BF2142 and hell it might be great I'm just telling you that point is retarded to a new level and you should avoid using it ever again. and as far as doing things a mod could never do to bf2 take a look at what FH2 is doing its amazing :)

Very strange, indeed. I played 2142 religiously for the first week or two, but after that, I didn't feel the same drive I did when playing BF2. Maybe it's the contemporary setting, maybe the fact I've put so much time into the game and I know it's intricacies. Whatever the reason, BF2's got me back, and I think this time, I'm here to stay.
