Actually there were some threads we had going where we told people not to run Xfire because it was causing problems with the game. Dont know how much that affected it but it cleared up a lot of peoples problems.

I only ask because I still people complaining about the in-games ads, but I never see anyone mentioning the spyware anymore. *shrug*
That because the spyware story was bs of course, some idiots made it up. The game has advertising and to gain that per region it sends you IP with. Sorry to say, but every game, TS, MSN, P2P program sends your IP anyway. Second to that you can just block the in-game ads with your firewall (I do).
The spyware was non-sense and the ads aren't all that bad afterall and can be blocked.
The good thing of BF2142 is the better support, quick and proper patches means a lot to me. Though BF2 is just the better game, simple said.
2142=Battlefield Vietnam
When Vietnam was released bf1942 was still huge and if i remember correctly Vietnam was dying down before 1942 was.Then they released BF2 which killed bf1942, then here comes BF2142. BF2142 Wasn't too big(like BF Vietnam) it starts to die down while BF2 is still huge.Soooooooo if history repeats its self the next Battlefield should be a big hit
I played the cracked version of the game. Got multiplayer working on a cracked 2142 server. Game was OK, but just seemed like a BF2 mod to me. Wasn't enough for me to want to give up BF2.
Besides, I really wasn't FINISHED with BF2. I still have goals to meet in the game. BF2 is still fun to me. I think a lot of people feel that way.
I have noticed, that right after BF2142 came out, a lot of the high ranked players kinda disappeared from BF2. You'd join games, and highest rank you'd see was maybe 1st Lt. Maybe a colonel here and there. But lately, those high ranking players have been coming back, and its common to see them in games.
