    something like this?

I don't think a huey would fit in the "conflict of 2008" realm.

      Nothing like that. Whatsoever.

Why wouldn't a Huey model fit in the "conflict of 2008"?

i don't understand how asking for a medivac huey and getting a medivac blackhawk is nothing like it whatsoever.

And I don't think a Huey would fit because in 2008 most will be used in training only as part of the upgrade program of AH-1's and UH-1's started in 1997

The Blackhawk and Huey are both two different birds, designed by two different manufacturers. They are different in all dimensions of size, power, maximum endurance and agility.

UH-1's are Huey models... Are you saying that the UH-1s will be used for the training program? I'm not clear on what you're saying...

I am aware of the differences between the two whirlie-birds. I was simply giving you an example from Desert Combat (a popular modification of Battlefield 1942). In this mod, we had a medivac chopper (albeit it was a bh and not a huey). I was just using my picture as a "something like this you mean?" reference.

And yes, UH-1's will be taken out of active service and be used in a training program. The USMC only has 107 in inventory.

The more I read though, the more it seems they are still used in support roles in the military (though mainly ship to ship). The reason i say 2008, is because this is when BF2 allegedly takes place.

"The UH-1N is a twin-piloted, twin-engine helicopter used in command and control, resupply, casualty evacuation, liaison and troop transport. The Huey provides utility combat helicopter support to the landing force commander during ship-to-shore movement and in subsequent operations ashore.he aircraft can be outfitted to support operations such as command and control with a specialized communication package (ASC-26), supporting arms coordination, assault support, medical evacuation for up to six litter patients and one medical attendant, external cargo, search and rescue using a rescue hoist, reconnaissance and reconnaissance support, and special operations using a new navigational thermal imaging system mission kit."

Also, here is the source for the upgrade program initiated in 1997:

I'm not sure why you and hueys are so much in love and cuddly, but...

In BF2, a FAC inside a huey with a commander would have a lifetime of what... 2.. 3 seconds?

              Whatever.

judging from his avatar and the fact that the syntax seems to be tail markings for a mustang aircraft - i'd say he's a pilot.

Then he may be better off with a chopper-sim than BF2 :)

Mustang as in the P-51 variety? Possible although that is a civi serial.

LOL, not the BF:V hueys, those things had better handling than a j-10.

I love hueys, I wouldn't mind having one in bf2 but a mod only. It would just be out of place in game since they're from the hippie era.
