Can I get a Commander Here???

Commanding is a very special part of any battle, from spotting the enemy to supplying much needed ammo and more...

from saving your team mates from an offensive with arty strikes to destroying enemy assets..



From administrating servers we see this instead..

Commander taking a tank and trying to fight and removing that armor from a team mate who could use it better..

Commander flying around in a jet or helo..

Commander doing absolutely nothing..

Commanders tk'g for aircraft..

the reason I bring this up, is why even mutiny, kick or otherwise take the position if your not going to use it for the manner in which it is designed??

the ROE clearly states about commanders using vehicles and or causing team mates deaths by not doing their job..

your thoughts??

I kick commanders once they break the rules the first time. They have nothing but time to sit and hide and read the rules.

The only time I exit the command hud, when commanding, is when I have to deal with some spec ops blowing up my assets or repairing them and no one else is around.

I hate it when commanders don't do their job or use the assets only to their own advantage.

Very few commanders act as they should. When I'm commanding I spend all my time on my teams winning. It's so stupid though at the start of a round before the UAV or scan is even charged to see a mutiny vote, or towards the end of the round they mutiny you out just to stop you from getting double points.

I believe its a game and you can play it how you want. If the makers didn't want you commanding while fighting then they would confine you to one location so you couldn't move. I'm sick and tired of the bs admins give me about how to play the game. I'm probably 20x better than him in all aspects of the game and he thinks he can tell me how to play. Admins are there to pay for the sever and stop people breaking the ROE, that is it. Just because its "their" server doesn't give them the right to kick people for driving to the airfield or kick people for "bunny hopping."

you can put it as a rule on the server that commanders cannot use vehicles because it impedes the team.

I don't think most people understand the point system for commanders... I hate seeing a commander who tries to kill people because they don't get 2 points for the kill. They don't get points for resupplies, revives, kills, heals, or repairs, but noob commanders are always doing those things instead of putting up UAVs or commanding squads to objectives or dropping supplies for armor or dropping vehicles for someone stuck in BFE.

As an admin, I would just boot them from the server and say that they are impeding the team.

commanding can get boring after a while. anyway they are probably just doing it for the points. find a different server or swap teams.

Exactly. I've been kicked before for stopping an entire squad from infiltrating our rear points. I setup C4 at the point where I'd thought they would try to capture first and waited. BOOM! All die, and bit*h to the admin that I was fighting as commander. Then I was kicked for fighting. Absurd!

I agree that a commander shouldn't be "fighting" in the thick of a battle, using armor, helio, plane, etc. But they have the right to protect not only their commander assets, but also to protect key CP's! Who says a commander has to stay at the main uncapable CP?? And hoping in a clearly unused HUMV to defend a rear CP should also be allowed. But again, it all depends on the quality of the server admin.

yeah i hate bad commanders, they think that just because there is an open tank/apc that they must get in it and start fighting. i always do my job, except when im on kark as USMC commander and my team is just spawn camping the hotel. then i drop myself a car and go cap a point to help my own cause/

theres nothing wrong with a commander using a tank as long as he commands and uses the tank properly.
nor is it wrong to fight on foot with your teammates, ive done it many times simply because sitting there pressing scan and arty buttons constantly is ****ing boring. surprised you havent got that in your gay roe too or maybe it is?? :laugh:

@ vesuvan, if i were you i'd hunt that admin down and beat him to death with my keyboard. its a shame 99% of server admins are gay little 12yr olds, they really do ruin other peoples games.

Commanders in any vehicle apart from extreme circumstances in a large server should be ejected on sight.

I agree that commanders should command only and not use vehicles or fight, except for the following exceptions:

• (As posted earlier) Enemy units are attacking assets or a defended position where you are located.
• Small, IO server where the extra body is needed to fight and the commanders have fewer resources anyway.
• Your team is so inept at flag taking (everyone waiting for planes, always attacking the same SP, etc.) that you're forced to try and take a position or otherwise make a difference.

when i command, i try to stay in the hud as much as possible. if i have to ill try to thwart an attack when on infantry only. i was doin that a week ago i was sniper on tip of square and just laying the pain to many unsusecting people who were there. the opposing team even took the square when i was up there didnt notice so i wreaked some havoc until i could get a squad to come back and get retake.

In the past week, I've played 5-6 rounds as commander. And in each round, 2-3 people do mutiny on me. And people usually vote 'Yes', which pisses me off. I do everything I can to spot anyone I see while someone is capping a flag as well as drop supplies where needed.
