Claymores may not be made to be detonated by motion sensor, but it can be done. I could make a motion sensor detonator using the auto-flusher from a urinal and a couple of 9V batteries. If I can do it, any motivated soldier can with the right tools.
I made an airsoft sentry gun, using a cheap mock MP5 airsoft gun and the motion sensor from a 500W light (commonly used for houses, equipped with motion sensors). Nothing fancy, but worked. So motion sensors for claymore isnt a problem. Doesnt beat the true and mean P90, with servo engines, microprocessor and IR camera with autotracking home made software and autoaiming on a camera stand, now that was a piece of art.
Jimi, whats wrong with motion detonated claymores?
It's a fast paced arcadic video game. It's not even slightly realistic, or is it meant to be slightly realistic. If people want to ***** about claymores don't use realism as an excuse. How come they don't explode when teammates go near them? There. This entire thread is invalid.
I think claymores are fine how they are in the game. However one thing that bugs me is say, i crawl around a corner and see a claymore. I think shet ive gotta get out of here, its not until i move that it goes off. But why didnt it go off when i first moved infront it? They only ever seem to kill me if i make eye contact with them as well.
CLAYMORES CANT REALISTICALLY TAKE A DNA TEST TO TELL WHICH COUNTRY YOU ARE FROM, THEREFORE THEY SHOULD KILL YOUR OWN TEAM. They target humans, you want realism, make them teamkill.
Simple. it is same for C4 whorers but atleast they have ta blow it and watch out for team kill, stupid claymore whores "strategically placed" claymores, and act like its skill.... get a grip all it is, is abusing a defensive weapon to get your stats up.
Why is it people always say stupid stuff to fix claywhoring,like this "You should be able to shoot it" -.- As many of you know you can not shot C4 to make it go boom, you have to use a charge. Well I am sure 90% of you didnt know that claymore is C4, it is basicly a C4 mine with 700 spherical steel balls infront of it.
looks something like this
__[]_
|c4::|
|c4::|<(Face toward enemy duh)
|c4::|
|c4::|
=====
|=Wall
c4=C4 -.-
::=steel balls
[]=pin
700 spherical balls = correct
you cannot shoot it to make it detonate = correct
you must use a charge to detonate = somewhat incorrect. It can be detonated by an electrical / non-electrical firing system, by time delay, or by a pressure release device (mousetrap), tripwires, infrared sensors, and acoustic & vibration sensors.

Well yes, you can use one as a booby trap...but you have to be in the immediate area to use it....they are remote detonated....you have to push the button...
Wrong. As I said before, they can be detonated in a variety of ways.

True you cannot shoot c4 to make it explode but claymores are not wireless and motion detected. You must use an M57 firing device that is hardwired to the claymore, but that is not fun for video games and neither is not being able to shoot a claymore to make it explode.
Wrong again.

in RL claymores are not motion sensored
I think detonation via infrared sensors, acoustic, & vibration sensors make up for that.
I still wish you could at least throw a grenade or something in front of a claymore to detonate it instead of sacrificing your body. It's pretty damn gay that someone has to be sacrificed in order to get rid of that claymore in that damn 2 ft. wide alley.
Towel: Where did you get the information on how claymores are triggered???
Almost anyone that has been in the military in a combat MOS can tell you what he told you. I used claymores before, but always command detonated, you're not going to find many acoustic, or infrared triggering systems deployed by conventional forces.
Anyway, someone earlier made a comment about claymore spamming being better than c4 whores...that person is on crack. I would much rather have someone that I can see and kill trying to run at me and throw C4, than some spineless turd drop and forget a clays while he runs up into a crane to sit and be the last player left alive, completely oblivious to his surroundings. Yea, I hate snipers.
The reason people are complaining is because you see no talent snipers running around with their claymores out and at the sight of the first enemy they drop it....NO SKILL.

Yip, that's one big thing, but I like it when they do that because there is a few second delay before it arms, and you can usually make it past if you don't hesitate, and kill them. On the note of nublet snipers....
I mean really, how many ****ing snipers do you need one one roof?

AHAHAHA. I bet they're all fighting over the same kill. Those silly snipers. UNLESS!! there's only two snipers, one support, a medic, and a squad leader with which they are all spawning on. Just a guess.
